Our client is a caravan and camper manufacturer in Wangara (a suburb of Perth), WA is known in the industry for innovation and 'out-of-the-box' thinking.
The Western Australian owned and operated family business is seeking to employ a Mechanical Engineering Technician to assist management in implementation of a series of wheelchair accesses for our unique wheelchair friendly camper, and to explore any other additions or modifications that are not yet available in the market.
This will include, but is not limited to the following:
Assist in the design of wheelchair access options.
Testing and development of additions and modifications required or sought by the market
Evaluation of these options by engaging stakeholders.
Development and installation of the prototypes.
Identifying the assistance needed to be installed in the caravan to facilitate different wheelchair uses.
Testing, developing and installation of these assistances
Analysing data from prototypes for improvement
Assisting the mechanical engineers in the evaluation of these wheelchair options.
Preparing drawings, mapping out plans and designs for the identified options.
The successful candidate:
Have an above average knowledge and experience of manufacturing and fabrication material applications.
Experience in low voltage systems, design and automation will be an advantage.
Knowledge and experience of fibreglass mould fabrication will be helpful.
Have a love for camping will useful.
This is a full time position. A salary of $73,150 plus superannuation will be
offered to the successful candidate.
