About the Opportunity
The role of the Registered Nurse - Drug & Alcohol is to provide assessment, referral, counselling and case management to those inmates affected by substance use issues.
Promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates
Ensuring the safety and security of inmates and the community
Providing a decent and respectful environment to staff, inmates and visitors.
What youll be doing
Provide a comprehensive and accurate health assessment for patients
Evaluate the patients progress towards expected outcomes in partnership with patients and the wider team.
Integrate relevant, comprehensive information which includes the patients risks and strengths, providing appropriate interventions to mitigate risks
Assess and manage intoxication and withdrawal states
Apply clinical knowledge and skills in the assessment and referral of patients experiencing programs with substance use issues
