Position: Motor Mechanic
Salary: $74,000 plus superannuation.
Location: 19 Market Rd, Sunshine VIC 3020
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Keep precise records of work by clocking in and out on all job cards.
2. Complete tasks on job cards to a high standard, following established protocols.
3. Provide clear, detailed documentation of completed work on each job card.
4. Record mileage on all job cards to track kilometers traveled.
5. Stay updated on Roadworthy Services and Warranty Repairs through the mechanics' notice board.
6. Document warranty repairs with detailed notes and mileage.
7. Tag and store warranty parts in the designated area.
8. Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and other components.
9. Identify and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in engines and components.
10. Repair or replace worn or faulty parts as necessary.
11. Follow service manuals and guidelines during repairs.
12. Test and adjust serviced parts post-repair to ensure proper function.
13. Provide on-site breakdown service and repairs when needed.
14. Use electronic instruments and computers to diagnose and test mechanical components.
15. Conduct roadworthy inspections and diagnostic checks to identify and resolve vehicle faults.
16. Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including engine tuning, oil changes, and lubrication, to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
17. Ensure compliance with all relevant pollution regulations.
To be considered for this role, your key skills and attributes must include:
1. Minimum of two years of practical experience in the field or a similar equivalent.
2. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent education level.
3. Demonstrated skills in light vehicle repair, service, and maintenance, including a solid grasp of petrol engines, suspension, transmission, steering, and brake systems.
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting various vehicle service manuals.
5. Competence in using computers for fault diagnosis and testing vehicle parts.
6. Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
7. Capacity to prioritize workload to meet customer and management deadlines.
8. Excellent customer service skills, including effectively communicating technical mechanical issues to diverse audiences.
9. Full working rights within Australia are essential.
