An exciting opportunity has become available at our beautiful standalone Childcare Centre in the heart of Brighton Queensland. As a Full-Time Chef (38hrs/week Monday - Friday) at Tiny Legends, Brighton Queensland, you will be responsible for preparing all food required for 95 children per day aged between 6 weeks and 5 years old.
The successful applicant must:
. have a passion for providing nutritious food for children, genuinely wanting to give them the best start to life and to educate them around all aspects of nutrition to have a positive impact on their lives and their future.
. have a passion for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with families and the wider community.
. have a current positive working with children check (or willing to obtain).
. have current first aid/cpr/anaphylaxis/asthma - (willing to obtain if needed).
. have completed a minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Diploma in Hospitality.
. have a strong level of professionalism and an understanding of professional boundaries.
. have a strong desire to continually improve and strive for Excellence (as an individual and as a team).
. have sound professional written and verbal communication skills.
. experience as a Child Care Educator (Cert III in Children's Services) is not required but would be desirable.
Position requirements are as follows (but not limited to)
. Ensuring menus are up to date at all times and follow guidelines set out by Nutrition Australia ensuring all dietary requirements are catered for.
. Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
. Monitor and maintain inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
. Order food and kitchen supplies as needed, keeping within budget restraints.
. Rotate stock to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
. Follow cleaning schedules and ensure kitchen meets health and safety standards.
