Salary: $73,500 plus 11.5%superannuation
Our client, Prasiic Pty Ltd t/a The Grill restaurant: steak, ribs and seafood in Port Macquarie Is looking to fill a full time position for enthusiastic, creative and experienced Cook to work in a busy restaurant. The Grill restaurant: steak, ribs and seafood are a highly regarded venue for its Australian food and welcoming hospitality in a vibrant atmosphere.
The employer is looking for an experienced and motivated person who is qualified as a Cook and is capable of serving a high volume of customers. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial brand with strong potential to grow within the business.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Australian cuisine and the skills to prepare and present a variety of dishes that meet high standards. You will be responsible for ensuring all meals are cooked to perfection, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and working efficiently under pressure.
To be successful in this position, you must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful applicant must comply with all WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Ideally at least 2 years full-time experience in busy Australian restaurant
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes including steak, ribs, and seafood.
• Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
• Follow recipes and kitchen guidelines accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times.
• Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with menu planning and development.
• Manage and train kitchen staff as required.
• Undertake portion control practices, arrange, and garnish food according to the creative ethos of the kitchen
The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry and be career focused.

• Strong knowledge of Australian cuisine, particularly steak, ribs, and seafood.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

You must be a quick learner who is also reliable, creative, organized, hard-working and well-mannered. You must be able to multi-task when required as the restaurant gets busier at times.
