We are searching for a skilled plasterer/Gyprocker to work on our construction projects and to deliver excellent plastering to our clients.
About the Role:
To ensure success as a plasterer you need to skilled at internal and external applications, work independently, and be able to understand the client's requirements.
A top-notch plasterer has knowledge of different plaster types, both wet and dry, and be able to apply browning, bonding, thistle, carlite, and dri-coat as needed.
Apply and fix plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire rating systems, acoustic tiles, and composite wall linings to buildings, and apply decorative and protective coverings of plaster, cement and similar materials to the interiors and exteriors of structures. you may be required to provide quotes, consulting with clients and reporting any building issues.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required dimensions and installation procedures, familiar with flushing process determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens
Correctly mix flushing compounds using power mixer
Install joint tapes to plasterboard joints covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them using flushing tools
Install external and internal angle beads to plasterboard wall and ceiling
Sanding plasterboard joints to make joints flat with plasterboard using electrical sanding tool and sanding block, sanding paper etc.
Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials
Communicating with clients and other stakeholders on job.
Discussing project plans with relevant stakeholders and clients.
Examining and priming surfaces for plastering.
Selecting the appropriate plastering materials for different sites.
Protecting non-plastering surfaces with appropriate materials.
Applying different plasters to exterior and interior surfaces.
Fixing and repairing previous plastering work when necessary.
Reporting any structural issues to the site foreman.
Mixing and preparing mortar, plasters, and other finishes.
Consulting with other contractors to ensure project deadlines are met timeously.
Requirement
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Trade-school qualification or proof of apprenticeship with a certified plasterer/builder.
Performing general physical activities.
Coordinating the work and activities of others
Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, Subordinates and with different background team members
The ability to work as part of a team sometimes outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
Ability to work under pressure.
Organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of material purchasing processes is beneficial.
Knowledge of different plastering techniques and materials.
Knowledge of decorative plastering and design are preferential.
Salary Offer: $75,000 p.a + Super
