Salary: $73,500 plus 11.5% superannuation
Our client, Vanforbes Pty Ltd, trading as Vandenberg Hotel is a well-established and reputable hotel in the heart of Forbes, NSW. Vandenberg Hotel pride itself on offering exceptional service and a welcoming environment to all the guests. Vandenberg Hotel is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel/Motel Manager to join its team to maintain high standards of hospitality.
Your challenge will be to uphold guest expectations, employee requirements and profitability including day-to-day staff management. The Hotel and Motel Manager will provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments and will assume the responsibility of improving level of service to enhance the profitability of the hotel.
The applicant is also required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures, making sure all customers have a positive experience. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Scope of the role
Supporting existing management team in delivering successful operations, achieving the hotel objectives and improving profitability.
Qualification and Experience
• Relevant qualification at the level of an Australian Qualifications Framework equivalent Diploma or higher. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
• Proven experience as a Hotel or Motel Manager or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Manage the daily operations of the hotel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services.
• Ensure excellent customer service and handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of staff.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards
• Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints
• Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper stock levels of supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote the motel through marketing and promotional activities to increase occupancy and revenue.
• Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, travel agencies, event/ conference planners etc.
The successful candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, be career focused and have strong leadership qualities. Other key skills and experience will include:
