Warran Glen Garden Centre & Café, located in Warrandyte, VIC, offers a unique combination of a garden centre, gift shop, and café set in a serene botanical environment. Position: Chef
Salary: $74k plus superannuation
Location: 373-383 Ringwood-Warrandyte Rd, Warrandyte, VIC, 3113
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time. Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Skillfully preparing each item featured on the menu.
2. Developing and testing innovative recipes to enhance menu variety.
3. Considering customer preferences and culinary trends to adjust dishes as needed.
4. Precisely following recipes and guidelines for all signature dishes to maintain high food quality.
5. Arranging and prepping all ingredients and materials required for cooking.
6. Supervising kitchen staff to ensure compliance with operational standards.
7. Providing timely training to kitchen staff when necessary.
8. Scheduling and managing the entire kitchen team.
9. Effectively managing the flow of orders through the kitchen using the docket system.
10. Keeping a clean and organized workspace, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
To be considered for this role, your key skills, and attributes must include:
1. Possesses appropriate qualifications with a minimum of two years of professional experience.
2. Holds a Certificate IV in Cookery or an equivalent higher trade qualification.
3. Demonstrates adeptness in maintaining focus and effectively leading teams in high-pressure environments.
4. Skilled in menu planning and cost management.
5. Must possess unrestricted working rights in Australia.
