POSITION
We have an exciting opportunity for a professional, proactive and motivated, Chef de Partie. The position is full-time and located in South Mackay QLD 4740. This position will offer you the experience needed to advance your career in food, working alongside our executive team of Chefs.
As a qualified Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation of quality food for our Café, Bistro & Functions Departments. Your contribution in preparing consistent and quality food to menu guidelines and recipes is an essential asset and as a valued team member we will expect high standards of not only food service but also personal presentation, hygiene, customer service and work ethic. As part of your duties, you must always maintain a safe and clean work area. This includes complying with our implemented food safety program, as directed by senior kitchen personnel.
SKILLS
The position requires you to have:
• Diploma level Commercial Cookery qualifications, and
• At least 2 years’ relevant job experience.
POSITION DUTIES
You will need to undertake the following tasks:
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes within the specialty section.
• Assisting the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef to define menu concepts and develop dishes.
• Helping with the management of health and safety practices.
• Monitoring supplies and assisting with recipe costing and inventory control.
• Operating and maintaining all department equipment and reporting any problems.
IDEAL QUALITIES
• A genuine interest and passion for food and desire to work as part of a close-knit team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Have extensive cooking experience and be able to lead by example and encourage other kitchen staff.
• Ability to train kitchen staff to ensure Company expectations are achieved.
• Responsibility for supervision of all food safety standards.
• High standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
• Available to work as per rostering requirements including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to contribute to maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Proven ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
SALARY
The salary offered will be $70,000 to $80,000 per annum negotiated based on your experience.
