About the business:

For the past 30 years, Euro Marble has been providing a superior range of marble, granite and stone products and services to the residential and commercial sectors. We also work closely with your architects, designers, and builders to ensure strong attention to detail and bring creations to life. And, with our purpose-built facility in Sydney, we have the capabilities to create unique one-off products to precise specifications.

We are currently looking for a skilled stonemason to join our team on full-time basis.

Role: Full time
Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 per annum + superannuation (depending on experience and skills)
Location: Marrickville
Responsibilities:
• Read and understand drawings and specifications to determine materials required
• Work closely with clients to understand their design preference and provide recommendations.
• Choose the most suitable stones for each project based on factors like durability, appearance, and intended use
• Expertly cut, shape and carve a variety of stones to create stunning architectural features and intricate designs according to specifications
• Accurately measure and calculate to ensure proper proportions and symmetry
• Arrange and set stones in mortar and other binding materials to create walls, floors and other structures or renovate them
• Cut, polish and install kitchen benchtops, construct walls using stone slab as per customer requirements
• Cut and polish natural and engineered stones using wet cutting and polishing hand tools.
• Laminate or glue for different types of stones, shape and polish different edges as required
• Assemble and fabricate various parts to create a finished product.
• Maintain, sharpen, and care for your tools, ensuring their efficiency and safety throughout projects.
• Prioritize safety by following established protocols, using protective equipment, and promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Requirements:
• Certificate III in Stonemasonry
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Understanding of different stone properties
• Knowledge and experience with heavy and power tools
Skills & Competencies:
• Ability to maintain project timelines and ensure timely completion
• Familiarity with traditional and modern stonemasonry techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and an eye for design and symmetry.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity for working with heavy stones and tools.
Australian Citizens/Permanent Residents preferred.
