Payroll Manager Role on the Gold Coast! Your new company
Our client is one of Australia's leading property organisations in their field with a well-established place in the market. Due to the rapid growth, they require a passionate Payroll Manager to join their team on the Gold Coast. This position will require a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a high-loud environment. This company has a strong reputation with a long-term strategy in place.
Your new role
Reporting to the CFO, you will be an integral member of a highly effective finance team. You will be timely and accurate with your processing and provide key leadership to the Payroll Division.

Your day will include, but not limited to:


Organise and supervise the work of a small, local team to ensure they are appropriately trained and that all tasks are effectively carried out within appropriate timelines.
Develop and/or modify payroll procedures and checklists and apply best practice work methodology, to ensure that payroll activities are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
Work closely with the Human Resources department regarding all other staff leave entitlements and payments.
Perform in parallel with project management for the remediation and continuous improvement of your client's payroll and rostering systems and processes.
Leading and managing the end-to-end Payroll function and team, you will need to respond to payroll queries within our agreed service levels, along with responsibility for calculating pay increases, back pay and processing leave reconciliations.
Ensure that all fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting activities are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have proven experience operating as a Payroll Manager within a fast-paced, high-volume organisation. You will need to have good computer literacy and numerical data processing speed and accuracy, work well working in a team, have good time management and organisational skills, and be motivated and driven.

You will also have the following attributes and knowledge:


Tertiary qualifications and extensive and successful experience in managing a payroll system.
At least 5 years have demonstrated experience working within a payroll Management related role.
Knowledge of manual and computerised payroll systems, and time and attendance software.
Detailed knowledge of appropriate legislation, Australian Accounting Standards and the requirements and operations of the Australian Taxation Office.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff in a high pressure, constantly changing environment.
Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, a great attitude, and a strong work ethic.
