Salary: $110,000 plus 11% superannuation
Our client The Ramps Ridge Services Pty Ltd conducts farming business, sheep, beef and other seasonal agriculture production and covers approximately 3547 ha predominantly dedicated to cotton. The client is nationally accredited from the National Feedlot Assurance quality system and approved for all major markets in the world.
The Ramps Ridge Services farm relies heavily on well-maintained electrical systems to ensure the smooth operation of all equipment and facilities. The client is currently seeking a skilled Electrician to join its dynamic team.
You will be a qualified and licensed Electrician with solid hands-on technical skills, developed through trade and experience on sites. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment on farm. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical components are functioning safely and efficiently, supporting the overall productivity of farming operations.
Employment will be on a permanent full-time basis. Key duties will include electrical installation and investigations, testing and maintenance and service and repair of farming equipment.
You will have a well-rounded understanding of electricals, including interpreting plans, wiring and problem solving and be comfortable working in varying climate conditions.
Requirements:
• Possess a recognised Trade Certificate as an Electrician
• Hold a current qualified Electricians Licence
• Have at least 2 years’ proven relevant experience
• Familiarity with the latest electrical diagnostic tools and software
• Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in a farming or agricultural setting.
Key responsibilities are set out below:
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems, specific to farming operations.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment used in irrigation systems, pumps, and other farm machinery.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in farm buildings, greenhouses, and storage facilities.
• Utilise technical knowledge, skills and capabilities to interpret specifications, drawing and manuals
• Examine blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
• Use electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
• Test for, locate and repair electrical malfunctions
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and electrical codes, particularly those related to agricultural environments.
• Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute electrical projects that improve farm efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed, including service logs and inventory of electrical supplies.
• Support the installation and maintenance of automated farming systems.
• Implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce the farm’s overall energy consumption.
• Provide electrical support during the setup and maintenance of livestock facilities, ensuring safe and reliable power for feeding and monitoring systems.
• Assist in emergency repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of essential farm equipment.
Ideal candidate will have:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment used in agriculture.
