Salary: $100,000 plus 11% superannuation
Our client The Ramps Ridge Services Pty Ltd conducts farming business, sheep, beef and other seasonal agriculture production and covers approximately 3547 ha predominantly dedicated to cotton. The client is nationally accredited from the National Feedlot Assurance quality system and approved for all major markets in the world.
The client is currently seeking a Diesel Motor Mechanic to join their energetic team located in HAY, NSW who is committed, high calibre applicant who possess a passion for the agricultural industry.
As a Diesel Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines and related machinery used in our farming operations. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment remains in top condition, minimizing downtime and contributing to the overall productivity of our farm.
Qualification and Experience:
• You must hold a relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years’ experience, or AQF Certificate IV in Diesel Vehicle Mechanical Technology. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications mentioned above.
• A minimum 2 years’ previous experience in the same role.
• Experience with brands and models of machinery commonly used in farming.
• Familiarity with the latest diagnostic tools and software
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and related farming equipment.
• Servicing farm and feedlot equipment - loaders, tractors, excavators and vehicles
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
• Repairs, preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment
• Carry out vehicle inspections for registrations
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Collaborate with the farming operations team to ensure machinery is available and functioning as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have:
• Proven experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic, preferably in a farming or agricultural setting.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and agricultural machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
• Use of diagnostic equipment to determine engine performance
