Universal Granite are looking for an experienced Stonemason to join their team, located in Prestons NSW on a full-time basis.
To layout and cut natural and manmade stone. Installation of prefabricated
benchtops and vanity tops. Drill holes into the stone for tap placement. Shape,
trim, and cut stone as required, using hand held power tools. Smooth and polish
surfaces using hand held power tools. To seal and clean excess glue from stone,
as well as general maintenance on site. To conduct yourself in a courteous and
responsible manner as a representative of Universal Granite at all times, whether
working onsite or driving the company vehicles. Obey and operate according to
the health, safety and environmental directions and standards of Universal
Granite and all work sites. Ensure that the workplace folder containing all
certificates is current and onsite at all times.
Tasks & Duties:
• Follow all instructions and health and safety standards in relation to
• manual handling when lifting and placing stone.
• When moving stone from one place to another ensure the safety of all
• persons in the area and the lifting crew. Ensure that the path of lifting is
• clear to minimise any accidents or damage to people or property.
• Loading and storing safely and correctly of all stone pieces and
• consumables onto utility trucks for transportation to all work sites.
• Liaise directly with office staff, clients / customers, kitchen and joinery
• tradespeople and office staff, and any other trades people onsite in a
• courteous and professional manner.
• Interpretation of drawings - Follow all plans and drawings when
• fabricating and installing stone, advise Joe and or the Kitchen Co./Joinery
• Co. immediately of any anomalies or issues arise with the product as
• opposed to the plans and drawings. Wait for instructions and
• confirmation before proceeding or altering plans and drawings.
• Gluing of undermount sinks and basins when required.
• Applying silicone and epoxy products as per Universal Granite standards,
• When available in the factory ensure that all stone and appliances are
• packed and ready for the next day of installation.
• Ensure that all sites are left clean and free of rubbish before leaving.
• Comply with all reasonable requests from management.
• Undertake all operations as per company safety procedures and
• workplace health and safety standards of all sites.
• Undertake all operations according to quality and environmental
• guidelines and legislation.
