An exciting Sales & Events management opportunity to work with an iconic cultural venue! Your new company We're looking for applicants who are passionate about all things events! This role is for an experienced Event Sales Manager in a permanent full-time role, working for one of Canberra's cultural institutes. The calibre of events will range from weddings, product launches, meetings, conferences, intimate high-end dinners, and social events. As the Event Sales Manager, you'll be tasked with maximising the potential of existing accounts and enquiries, as well as sourcing new business via prospecting and other sales activities. Clients can include professional conference organisers, venue finders, other third party and direct corporate planners and bookers, wedding couples, planners and third-party booking sites. Working closely with the wider Event Sales team across the company's portfolio, this role will suit a driven and enthusiastic sales and events professional looking for a new opportunity with a desire to exceed targets and build success for themselves and the venue. Key responsibilities & what you need to succeed:
Responding to event enquiries and taking the client through the process of site inspection, until event confirmation
Understand the client's objectives, budget and requirements by actively listening and asking open ended questions in the qualifying stage.
Utilise the branded sales quote templates, providing suggestions on how these venues can meet the objectives and budget before sending a proposal. Follow up within 24 hours and actively engage in securing a site inspection to secure conversion of this enquiry
Ensure timely and personalised quotation to all enquiries with effective follow up to ensure conversion within 24 hours
Demonstrate understanding of client needs whilst optimising the venue revenues through yield management and upselling options
The ability to conduct site inspections in a professional manner, manage and respond to corporate and social event enquiries, prepare proposals and contracts and ultimately convert sales
Completing sales appointments, as required, proposals, meetings, and follow-up of clients
Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and relationship building, maintaining effective relationships in all aspects of the role
Attendance at trade shows, industry events and client famils, as required
Bring existing and strong established contacts from within the Canberra market
Strong financial understanding of sales reporting, budgets and forecasting, and a proven success in meeting sales targets in new and existing business
Undertake sales calls, preparation of proposal, venue search, contracting, hosting famils and attending networking functions
Maintain good communication with the Venue stakeholders, Venue Manager, Event Coordinator and Head Office team
Proficiency in Microsoft office, events management and CRM software is essential. Priava and Fedelta POS experience will come highly regarded What you'll get in return
