One of our clients Manuka Café Pty Ltd T/A Bluewater cafe, located in Manly, NSW requires a skilled and experienced chef. It’s a full-time position for right applicant.
To be considered for this role you must have:
• AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or associate degree.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• You must be an Australian Citizen/ Permanent Resident or have proper working rights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring high levels of safety and professionalism in the execution of kitchen based culinary standards.
• Manage the cost of goods, labor and expense targets within agreed parameters as required.
• Report monthly to the procurement team on activities relating to the efficient management of stock, inventory, purchasing and suppliers.
• Adheres to all Health values, policies, and procedures as well as legislation affecting food hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Take responsibility for delivering the highest measures of food production and presentation to customers including managing the live cooking stations.
• Suggest innovation and commercially viable ideas to improve food quality and introduce new seasonal dishes.
• Check freshness of food and ingredients
• Plan menus, develop recipes, ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals, and determine how to present the food.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
• Complies with obligations under Work Health and Safety Act 2011, NSW.
• Ensures incidences are reported accurately and in a timely manner.
• Operate with limited guidance and make a significant contribution to the development of strategy as well as its implementation.
• Maintain good customer relations.
• Address service concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
• Seeks out guidance and support from appropriate individuals/groups as required.
• Performs other duties as directed by the departmental manager.
• Prepare the food as per customer’s health requirement like vegan or gluten free etc.
The suitable candidate will have excellent multitasking, creativity, and culinary expertise skills.
Salary - $75,000 plus super
