Governor’s Lodge Resort on Norfolk Island are seeking personalities who are passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences. The resort has 55 cabins and 3 on-site dining venues- The Lounge Bar & Cafe, The Boatshed, and our premier a la carte restaurant Bailey's.
We are looking for an energetic, driven Chef to join our kitchen team.
Duties include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section
- Assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
- Preparing meat and fish
- Assisting with the management of health and safety
- Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices
- Monitoring portion and waste control
- Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards
About you:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a hotel environment
- Excellent presentation and impeccable grooming standards
- Great communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
- Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you
- Positive and approachable manner
- Team player qualities
