Position: Systems Engineer
Location: Level 3, 3 Bowen Crescent, Melbourne, VIC, 3004
Salary: $80,000 + superannuation
Responsibilities:
1. System Administration and Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, and other hardware and software systems.
Perform routine maintenance tasks like system backups, updates, and security patching.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
Manage user accounts and permissions.
2. Desktop and Server Support:
Provide technical support to internal staff and external clients regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Document and escalate complex issues as needed.
3. System Optimization and Automation:
Identify opportunities to improve system performance and efficiency.
Implement automation solutions to streamline IT processes.
Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
4. Technical Support and Training:
Provide technical support and training to internal staff on various IT systems and software.
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a systems engineering or IT support role.
3. Strong understanding of system administration principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and other operating systems.
5. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
10. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
