Food Safety Quality Assurance Officer

Primary Position Objectives:
• The production of a quality product which meets all customer requirements, whilst meeting all other criteria in accordance with Approved Arrangement guidelines, AQIS requirements, AUS MEAT and Customer requirements
• Instil in all employees a work ethic focused on Food Safety, Quality of Product, Safety, pride of workmanship and teamwork
• To ensure that no financial claims arise from poor workmanship, incorrect specification, excess fat percentage or off microbial conditions.
• To establish the Dinmore plant as a location which can meet the international standards
Role Responsibilities:
• Quality production due to the procedures used in the processing, preparation, and dispatch parameters as laid down in government regulations, both internally and externally to Australia
• Interaction with management, production, and supervisory personnel to achieve the desired quality levels
• Interact/liaise with AQIS and other regulatory bodies when and where necessary so that all established guidelines are met
• Revise by amendment when necessary all publications and quality manuals following liaison with management
• Monitor to ensure the continued surveillance and reporting by the FSQA team of all processes
• Compile when necessary data assessed from monitoring sheets and ensure all forms used for monitoring are completed and forwarded to the manager on a daily basis
• Ensure samples required by the laboratory are collected form the sampling points and delivered to the laboratory without delay
• Monitor total hygiene practices in amenities, production areas, and render department on a daily basis
• Maintain a constant awareness of line testing results i.e. chemical leans, Criteria Reinspection
• Ensure corrective actions implemented are recorded showing results.
• Monitor programs/listings, chemical listings, AQIS instruments of approval, pest/rodent control
• Maintain an up to date status of all publications/manuals regardless of source pertaining to the Quality System
• Monitor/record when necessary results of instrument calibration e.g. scales, thermometers, torches and pH metre.
• All employees are to be supervised and managed in a manner in line with company values and the employee handbook including code of conduct.
• You have ownership of your personal safety and all other employee safety as a priority including monitoring and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Lock out Tag Out (LOTTO)
• Stop Production regardless of location if nonconformities are not or cannot be corrected whilst production continues

• Report all workplace incidents, accidents and hazards immediately to your Manager and rectify minor hazards that can be safely controlled.
• Maintain awareness and comply with JBS Australia Workplace Health and Safety practices.
• Meet all requirements relating to Quality, WH&S and Environmental Management as stated in Company Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
Skills/Competencies:
• To be sufficiently experienced in the day to day requirements of the meat industry to administer the position of employment
• Successful completion of the required AUS MEAT levels of competency and any other qualifications required by statutory authorities
• Must have acquired good communication and basic supervisory skills including problem solving, together with knowledge of Workplace health and safety, and quality assurance areas where deemed to be necessary
• Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook
• Responds calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focus
• Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
• Takes other's perspective's into consideration
• Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
• Sees an opportunity & takes action
• Makes self fully available as required
