Adorable Home Care is a NDIS Registered provider. We provide individualised care and support to our participants with disability in Toongabbie in NSW.
As the demand for such disability care services grows in the region, they seek for caring, passionate fulltime Personal care Assistant with excellent communication skills to join their Sydney western teams.
The Role
This is for a full-time basis with an annual salary set at $74,100 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
Provision of care and supports to participants with disabilities as detailed in their NDIS support plans.
Work Practices -Assisting people with daily activities and providing emotional support and friendship.
Communicate clearly, Inclusively, respectfully and understand individual communication (Verbal, Non-verbal) be persistent and patient.
Build trusted relationships- Build relationships, prioritize participant’s voice during any conflict.
Rights -support participant to express views, raise concerns, report complaints and incidents.
Work Collaboratively-support all supporting stakeholders, be optimistic, hope and patience.
Observe and respond-identify needs and strategies, observant, attentive and present.
Health and Safety-identify potential and actual risks, then act promptly
Requirements
In order to be shortlisted for this position, the right candidate needs to have:
Minimum Certificate III in Disability/ community services/Individual Support or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant field in an organisation setting
Possess the following certificates:
Current First Aid Certificate
NDIS orientation certificate
NDIS Clearance Certificate
Working with children check
Australian Federal Police Check
Current Australian Drivers Licence, reliable insured motor vehicle
A reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
Flexible availability to cover a range of shifts across the week including sleepovers.
Ability to speak Sinhalese and or Tamil and understanding of Sri Lankan culture would be an advantage.
Effective communication skills with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds.
Documentation skills for keeping client care records.
Be able to handle pressure in a professional manner
Have positive past employment work references
