Impresstik Systems is seeking an experienced (min 5 years) mechanical design engineer with a proven background in sophisticated packaging automation solutions.
Impresstik Systems is an Australian privately owned business which specialises in the design and manufacture of purpose-built label application equipment for roll fed pressure sensitive applications. Our equipment is sold within the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, paints/oils/chemicals, personal care products, wine industries. Our systems apply labels, inspect & reject, and apply batch and expiry codes.
As a key member of the engineering team and reporting to the general manager, you will play a key role in the design, manufacture, development and testing of projects. You will be responsible for:
• Collaborating with customers to a concept
• Responsibility for projects from concept to design, manufacturing and through to delivery
• Work with other design and automation engineers on the team to achieve and exceed customer expectations.
• Working with experienced factory staff, including machine shop, assembly, electrical, etc.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure selection of “best of breed” hardware and components.
• Using your experience be innovative and think creatively.
To be considered for this exciting role you will ideally be able to satisfy the following basic criteria:
1. Be a qualified mechanical engineer or mechatronics engineer.
2. A minimum of 5 years direct experience in special purpose machinery design and manufacture
3. Excellence in SolidWORK’s, PDM Vault & Microsoft Excel.
4. Have a solid understanding of pneumatic and motion control devices and systems.
5. Experience designing packaging machinery, particularly high-end labelling equipment, very highly regarded.
