Job Summary:
A Ramen Chef specialises in preparing and presenting ramen dishes, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, and consistency. The role involves crafting traditional and innovative ramen recipes and managing kitchen operations. The Ramen Chef must possess a deep understanding of ramen cooking techniques, ingredients, and the cuisine's cultural significance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation and Cooking:
• Prepare and cook all components of ramen dishes to ensure the highest quality and consistency.
• Master the preparation of broths, noodle types, and traditional Japanese ingredients.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes and standards.
2. Kitchen Management:
• Oversee the kitchen's daily operations, including ordering supplies and managing inventory specific to ramen cuisine.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-maintained.
• Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
3. Customer Service:
• Interact with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction with the ramen dishes, if needed.
• Address any complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control:
• Develop and manage the kitchen budget, including food costs, labour costs, and other expenses.
• Monitor inventory levels and minimise waste to control costs.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices for ramen-specific ingredients and supplies.
5. Culinary Knowledge and Skills:
• Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new ideas into the ramen menu.
• Experiment with new ingredients and cooking techniques to create unique ramen dishes.
• Continuously seek ways to improve the quality and variety of the ramen offered.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Chef, preferably with expertise in Japanese cuisine and ramen preparation.
• Culinary degree or equivalent training and experience.
• Strong knowledge of ramen cooking techniques and food safety standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for ramen and Japanese cuisine.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

Schedule:
• Weekend availability

Experience:
• Kitchen: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:
• Australia (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
