At I Pastai we prepare, we are looking for a full time (at least 38 hours per week) skilled Chef to perform the following duties:
The ideal candidate will be able to maintain the high standard of food quality, preparation, service, safety and hygiene that distinguish our Restaurant.
Main duties and responsibilities of the right candidate:
• Create seasonal menu and other special menus;
• Inventorying food, ingredient, and supply stock to prepare and plan vendor orders; manage the budget;
• Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques meet our high standards;
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment;
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation and ensure appealing plate presentation;
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures;
• Preparing and cooking food in a timely manner;
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Hire, train and manage kitchen staff;
• Verify compliance in preparation of menu items and customer special requests.
Skills and experience:
At least 2 years of previous work experience, management skills and knowledge of Italian cuisine.
Position: Full Time
Salary: $70,000 – 90,000 per year
