Watt Export Pty Limited prides on maintaining exceptional standards of freshness and customer satisfaction. The client currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Manager to join its dynamic team and oversee the efficient operation of its facility.
As a Facility Manager, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of warehouse and distribution center. Your role will involve ensuring the facility runs smoothly, managing a team of maintenance staff, and implementing best practices to optimize productivity and maintain the quality of fresh produce.
You will also be responsible for ensuring all necessary risk assessments are completed and the necessary checks are in place to meet all audit requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma with at least 3 years’ experience in similar role
What you will be responsible for:
• Oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers and service providers, including establishing and maintaining contracts for the provision of relevant services e.g. cleaning, waste removal, pest control etc. whilst ensuring the provision of the best levels of service
• Manage and coordinate maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment, refrigeration systems, and infrastructure.
• Supervise and train maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to company standards and policies.
• Develop and implement efficient facility management practices to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
• Monitor and manage facility budgets, including maintenance and utility expenses.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of fresh produce to maintain quality and minimize waste.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance.
• Management of business continuity planning, including emergency procedures
• Responsible for ensuring that adequate security provisions are in place and are efficiently monitored and maintained, liaising with external service providers as required
Skills, experience and attributes:
• Proven experience in facility management, preferably in the food distribution or wholesale industry.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and building management.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in using facility management software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
