A full time position for a Restaurant Manager available for immediate start for our Indian Restaurant in Canberra. The candidate should hold a Diploma in Hospitality. The candidate should have at least 5 years full time post qualification work experience as a Restaurant Manager in a reputed Indian restaurant or hotel. Experience at a reputable Australian restaurant for at least 2 years is preferable. The candidate should be diligent, independent and self-motivated Restaurant Manager. The candidate must be hard working, organized, creative, and passionate about working in an Indian restaurant. The candidate will be required to work in a high pressure/high turnover environment etc.
The duties and responsibilities for the position of Restaurant Manager
• Estimate food consumption, place orders with suppliers, and schedule delivery of fresh food and beverages
• Resolve customer complaints about food quality or service
• Direct the cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to maintain sanitation standards, and keep appropriate records
• Monitor actions of staff and customers to ensure that health, safety and hygiene standards and liquor regulations are obeyed
• Maintain budget and employee records, prepare payroll, and pay bills, or monitor bookkeeping records
• Check quality of deliveries of fresh food and baked goods
• Meet with sales representatives to order supplies such as tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items
• Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other services
• Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts and ensure that premises are locked at the end of the day
• Select or create successful menu items based on many considerations in consultation with the Chef, and assign prices based on cost analysis
• Recruit, hire, and oversee training for staff
• Schedule work hours for servers and kitchen staff
• Monitor food preparation and methods
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements
Base Annual Salary $75,000.00 plus superannuation.
