One of our clients, The Little Elephant Cafe is looking for an experienced Chef. The Little Elephant Cafe, located at 23 Spring Road in Highett, VIC 3190, is a charming local spot known for its warm atmosphere and exceptional food. It offers a boutique, seasonal menu with a variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The cafe is praised for its friendly staff, excellent coffee, and delightful ambiance. With features like alfresco dining and availability for private functions, The Little Elephant provides a cozy and welcoming experience for all visitors? Hence, our client is in search of a proficient and seasoned chef to become part of the team. The candidate should possess a strong enthusiasm for crafting and cooking dishes of the utmost quality.

Position: Chef
Salary: $73,150 plus superannuation
Location: 23 Spring Rd, Highett, VIC 3190
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time. Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparation of all the dishes listed on the menu.
2. Create new recipes and assist in defining the menu items.
3. Stay on trend with what customers want and deliver dishes as per their taste requirements.
4. Following cooking instructions and recipes for all signature dishes and maintaining high standards of food preparation.
5. Preparation and set up of all the ingredients/ materials that will be required in the cooking of food items.
6. Supervise the kitchen staff for maintaining the operation standards.
7. Provide training to the kitchen staff as and when required.
8. Managing and rostering all kitchen staff.
9. Effective management of the kitchen passes along the docket system.
10. Maintaining a sanitized and organized workstation, along with a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the entire kitchen.

To be considered for this role, your key skills, and attributes must include:
1. Relevant qualifications with at least three years of professional working experience in Indian cooking.
2. The qualifications must be a Certificate IV or above
3. Ability to focus in a pressured environment and manage the team effectively.
4. Full working rights within Australia are mandatory.
