The Client

Sharpline Stainless Steel is an Australian stainless steel company specializing in the design and manufacturing of custom benching equipment for commercial and domestic environments.

Established in 1981 and located in Central Coburg, Sharpline Stainless Steel has been specializing and providing in the hospitality and food industry for over 30 years. they supply to large brands such as Subway, Hungry Jacks, Spotless, Woolworths as well as local clubs and shopping malls.



The Role

This is for a full-time role with an annual salary at $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation and will be based in Coburg.



Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop Sheet- Metal fabricated products in accordance with industrial standards.

Proficient in 3D CAD Modelling Software (SolidWorks preferred)?to create detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing processes.?

Review and correct Design change requests.

Utilise AUTOCAD 2D to create flat-patterns for laser production.

Utilise Rendering Software (KeyShot) for product visualization and representation.

Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and opportunities in product design and fabrication.

Optimise product design for performance, cost, and quality

Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source high- quality stainless-steel materials for prototype development and production.

Coordinate prototype testing and evaluation to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.

Generate technical documentation, including design reports, assembly instructions, and material specifications

Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure product compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Provide technical support to production teams during the manufacturing and assembly process, troubleshooting issues and implementing design modifications as necessary.



Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

Minimum 2 years relevant experience in product design and development in a commercial environment preferably in metal fabrication.

Proficiency with CAD designing software will be highly preferred.

Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and industrial standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
