Position: Motor Mechanic
Salary: $70k plus superannuation, subject to review based on performance.
Location: 40/20 Prosperity St, Truganina VIC 3029
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Accurately clock in and out on all job cards to maintain precise records of work performed.
2. Complete all assigned tasks on job cards to the highest standard, following established procedures and guidelines.
3. Clearly document completed work on each job card, providing legible and detailed descriptions.
4. Record the mileage on all job cards to accurately track kilometers.
5. Follow instructions on the mechanics' notice board, especially regarding Roadworthy Services and Warranty Repairs.
6. Record detailed notes and kilometers for warranty repairs.
7. Tag warranty parts and store them in the designated warranty area.
8. Disassemble engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, transmission systems, and other related components for inspection.
9. Detect and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in engines and components.
10. Repair and replace worn or defective parts as necessary.
11. Refer to service manuals and adhere to specified guidelines and procedures.
12. Test and fine-tune serviced parts once repaired.
13. Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls for on-site servicing, if required.
14. Diagnose and test all mechanical components using electronic instruments and computers.
15. Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness and conduct diagnostic checks to ensure no faults are present.
16. Perform scheduled maintenance services such as engine performance tuning, oil checks, changes and refills, lubrication work, etc., to ensure smooth vehicle operation.
17. Ensure compliance with all applicable pollution regulations.
To be considered for this role, your key skills and attributes must include:
1. Minimum of three years of experience in the field or a similar equivalent.
2. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent education level.
3. Demonstrated skills in light vehicle repair, service, and maintenance, including a solid grasp of petrol engines, suspension, transmission, steering, and brake systems.
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting various vehicle service manuals.
5. Competence in using computers for fault diagnosis and testing vehicle parts.
6. Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
7. Capacity to prioritize workload to meet customer and management deadlines.
8. Excellent customer service skills, including effectively communicating technical mechanical issues to diverse audiences.
9. Full working rights within Australia are essential.
