WG Trunk Co is looking for a full-time experienced production manager skilled in working with leather of all kinds and hat manufacturing to join their small team.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with leather and understand the types of sewing techniques needed for manufacturing hats and accessories as well as a familiarity with the associated sundries. They will have an understanding of the hat making process, specifically western style bush/cowboy hats.

Key Competencies:
Experience in the use of production management software is essential. DANT and Apparel Magic preferred.
Experienced machinist - flatbed and cylinder arm preferred
Experience in the manufacture of hats, preferably leather
You will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and improving hat production procedures and plans
- Planning details of hat production activities in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements
- Monitoring hat production output and costs, and evaluating and recommending processes and resources to minimise costs
- Communicating with management about production matters
- Liasing with suppliers and tanneries
- Stock control
- Overseeing the installation of new sewing machines and associated machinery to assist in making production more efficient
- Evaluating production capacity and efficiency, and recommending and implementing improvements when neccessary.
- Maintaining production records and reports
- Overseeing staff activities and monitoring their performance
