Description
To prepare, cook, season, portion food and serve high-quality meals for the customers, maintain taste, nutrition and hygiene as high priorities.
Tasks include:
• Setting up workstations and operating kitchen equipment
• Measuring and weighing ingredients
• Following recipes and set menus
• Baking, grilling, steaming or boiling fish, meat, vegetables and other foods items as per the standard receipe requirements
• Presenting and garnishing dishes
• Adhering to kitchen hygiene and safety standards and maintaining superior level of product standards and high standards for food preparation, cleanliness and punctuality at all times
• Maintaining a clean workspace at all times
• Monitoring stock levels
• Keeping up with cooking techniques and methods
• Preparing, cooking and portioning a variety of dishes as the requirements
• Carving and trimming foods to ready them for different dishes
• Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• seasoning, garnishing and cooking food as per the standard recipes
• preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• Minimising food wastage
• Assisting in planning of new menu items as per the seasonal produce
• Ability to train other kitchen staff on different cooking techniques and cooking procedures and outline the company policies and standards
• Preparation, replenishment and rotation of stock in the kitchen and storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
Skill level required:
• Minimum three years of relevant work experience
• Minimum one year of similar food items cooking experience is a must
• Relevant certificate level qualification is essential
• Experience in cooking seafood menu items is essential
• Experience cooking Lebanese and Italian food menu items is an advantage
• Strict compliance towards food safety and hygiene requirements
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times
