The Client:
First Derivatives is a leading provider of products and consulting services to some of the world’s largest finance, technology and energy institutions. The Company holds a niche market position in terms of domain knowledge of capital market asset classes (equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, etc), as well as expertise in leading financial services systems (such as Calypso, Murex, Opics, Summit, Principia, Opus, Wall Street, kdb+, etc).
They now seek an experienced System/Service Analyst to join the team in Sydney.
This is for a full time role with an annual salary of $90,000 + Superannuation.


The Responsibilities:
· Spearhead the migration of tools like CATT to more collaborative and accessible platforms such as SharePoint
· Ensure a seamless transition that enhances user engagement and learning
· Enhance existing training materials and challenges for tools like CATT, aimed at deepening users' understanding of its testing functions across various financial services systems
· Offer continuous troubleshooting support and effective use of CATT tool to overcome any operational hurdles.
· Participate in the design and implementation phases of CATT
· Developing testing strategies and best practice procedures for tool configuration
· Oversee and conduct functional, regression, and system integration testing
· Ensure software and systems operate seamlessly across all intended functionalities
· Handle specific testing functions critical to financial operations, such as environment preparation, trade upload/lifecycle management, outbound SWIFT reconciliation, and end-of-day processes
· Conduct integration testing involving crucial financial interfaces and systems, including SWIFT, CLS settlements, and upstream trade booking systems
· Ensure interoperability and efficiency of aforementioned system functions
· Liaise with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Analysts (BAs), and developers continuously
· Manage effective requirement gathering to ensure comprehensive test coverage
· Provide tailored training sessions and handover to Support and Business teams to leverage the CATT tool effectively
· Produce detailed documentation on platforms, outlining critical testing functions, configurations, and best practices related to tools like CATT
· Develop and implement best practice guidelines for the configuration of testing tools

· Regularly monitor testing processes, report on outcomes, and provide insights
· Continuously update knowledge on financial systems and technologies, including Calypso, Murex, and kdb+, to provide informed support and enhancements to testing practices


The Requirements:
· Expected to be educated to a minimum of some post graduate degree level preferably in a STEM course
· At least 4 years working experience in KX technology
· At least 4 years of demonstrated expertise in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript
· At least 4 years of relevant experience with frameworks like React for front-end development or Django for Python
· At least 4 years of demonstrated skills in SQL for database management
· At least 4 years of demonstrated expertise in TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/S, FTP, and DNS
· Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools
· Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
· Excellent communication skills and time Management Skills
· Good Analytical and reporting abilities
· Logical Approach to problem solving and an investigative and inquisitive mind
