ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Operations Manager in the Marine team. This role is responsible for supporting the Marine Operations Manager with the primary focus of driving efficiency, compliance, continuous improvement and productivity within the Marine Department.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Delivering first class standards throughout the marine operations, and proactively building and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Supporting the Marine Operations Manager in leading and motivating a large crew to deliver the company product, safely and efficiently;
  • Facilitating all facets of workforce planning such as schedules/rosters, matrixes and crew progression;
  • Managing training compliance such as VSI/VOC's, qualifications and professional development;
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing compliance with permits and licenses through regulatory bodies;
  • Promoting business processes and systems ensuring usage for business effectiveness;
  • Assisting with the planning, management and maintenance of company vessels and pontoons, including purchasing, refurbishment and replacement; and
  • Assisting with project requirements ensuring project deadlines and departmental budgets are met


ABOUT YOU:

To ensure your success you will demonstrate extensive leadership experience, passionately value a strong team culture and will possess a can-do attitude. Personally, you are dynamic, self-motivated and passionate about people and results.

You will have:

  • Excellent management skills with a minimum of two years’ leadership experience in a similar role;
  • Prior Marine Operations experience with marine qualifications highly regarded;
  • A sound understanding of commercial operations with any analytical focus and strong bias for action;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill set as well as presentation skills;
  • Strong understanding and in depth knowledge of marine regulatory requirements;
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to a frequently changing market environment; and
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
