We are looking for a Station Hand to assist with cattle and farming operations at Oakland Park Station in Croydon, Qld. The role will initially be for a fixed term until the end of September, with the possibility for an extension if the wet season has not commenced and work can continue.
Key responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Cattle management, including mustering and conducting animal husbandry tasks, ensuring it is done precisely and safely.
- Farming and pasture programs, ensuring it is done precisely and safely.
- General farm duties including feeding, lick runs, checking water, fencing, operating machinery, and general farm maintenance.
- Property development programs related to farm infrastructure, pastures, and cultivation.
- Assist management to achieve production objectives.
- You will hold a C class drivers’ licence (essential).
- You will be physically fit.
- You will be keen to learn any livestock handling skills or have experienced working on a farm (preferred).
- You will have good communication skills.
- You will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with potential for Saturday work).
- An award based hourly rate dependent on your skills and prior experience.
