Salary: $57,000 to $65,000 plus 11% superannuation

Our client, Cakes For You Australia Pty Ltd t/a Orangerie Patisserie, is a leading bakery that makes all of its own products from scratch and by premix and is an authentic Australian Bakery in Cairns City. Orangerie Patisserie offers a large variety of quality Patisserie items of outstanding quality and nouvelle cuisine at affordable prices.
The client is looking to fill a full-time position for a skilled and experienced Pastry Cook who has a suitable amount of experience to be able to work unsupervised also at a good pace of production.
This role involves basic food preparation, assisting with ingredient and baking preparation, stock rotation, goods receival, and packing of products. This job is an immediate start. The successful applicant must have excellent baking/ pastry cooking skills and be able to work in team environment.
You must have experience making cakes.
Minimum Requirements:
• be qualified in relevant trade (minimum level: Certificate IV) or have minimum three years’ experience as a Pastry Cook or Certificate III with 2 years on job training
What you will be responsible for:
• checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises
• checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
• kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and cake/ pastry goods
• Processing dough into final products
• monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
• forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of rolls and cake/ pastry products
• decorating cakes with cream and icing
• operating machines which roll and mould dough
• emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
• Prepare and finish products for orders and display
• Order supplies and monitor stock levels
