Field Service Technician- MiningBalcatta, WA

Position Partners are looking for a Field Service Technician to join their Mining Division. The Mining Technician role will join a dedicated team in supplying high quality installation and servicing of GPS hardware on a wide range of mining and landfill equipment around Australia. The role will require an extremely skilled lateral problem solver as most of the work will be in varying and challenging locations. This is a full-time role based out of our Balcatta branch but will require DIDO & FIFO dependent on our clients locations. Key responsibilities will include: Ability to work within the mining sector and operate within the conditions onsite (Drug testing, Heat /Cold, Fatigue limits, remote work and adhoc rosters). Ability to work away at short notice when required by clients. Able to do shift work (12 hrs when onsite and to a maximum of 14 days). Ability to work alone and unsupervised in remote areas. Strong sense of ownership, be initiative and work well in a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong practical and technical experience. Self-motivated and professional attitude. Company and customer focused. Valid C class driver’s licence. HR license preferred. EWP and Work at Heights Qualifications preferred. Australian Recognised Trade Qualification preferred. Responsibilities: Proactive focus toward safety and hazard identification. Reading Electrical and Hydraulic schematics. Sourcing technical information from available reference manuals, OEM and computer- based systems. Complying with drawings and instructions for new installations. Complying with SWIMS / JHA’s and relevant safety procedures both onsite and in workshops. Installing and removing of components. Conducting technical inspections and job estimations. Undertaking maintenance, diagnostic and troubleshooting (repair based) activities. Installation of HPGPS and FMS systems on heavy mining and landfill equipment Updating software and firmware remotely and on site. Assisting customer sites with project creation and surveying. Fabrication and modification of mounting brackets. Undertaking administration tasks, like Pre-starts, job sheets, timesheets, client reports, Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) etc. Maintain records and complete reports, paperwork and data input as required.
