Our Peak Mine comprises several underground polymetallic (gold, lead, zinc, copper, and silver) and an 800 thousand tonnes per annum (ktpa) processing plant. The Mine is located in the northern Cobar Basin in western NSW, a short distance from the historical town of Cobar.

The Role
Advance Your Career as a Diesel Mechanic in Underground Mining: Join Our Peak Mine Team in Cobar NSW. As a skilled Heavy Vehicle Tradesperson, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our mobile mining fleet, working closely with our Mobile Maintenance Supervisor. This role offers the chance to showcase your expertise in mechanical maintenance, PRONTO data entry, and proactive problem-solving in a dynamic underground mining environment."
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnostics and repair of Heavy vehicles in breakdown situations
• Perform site inspection process
• Performing welding and fabrication repairs
• A/C license is a requirement, perform A/C service and repairs
• Diagnostics and repair of light vehicles in breakdown situations
• Perform daily and weekly servicing on all mobile and fixed plant
• Requisition parts from store and suppliers on behalf of Peak Gold Mine (PGM)
• Correctly tagging with information tags damaged or repairable items for transport to repairers
• Participate in daily shift information meetings and fill out daily plod ensuring all understand any risk or safety hazards associated
• Ensure workshop procedures are adhered to and understood.
About you
• Trade Certificate - Heavy Diesel fitter
• At least 2 years relevant experience as a tradesperson
• Demonstrated experience with underground mobile plant equipment (Caterpillar Haul Trucks AD45B & Cat IT’s, 2900 LHD, CAT 980 Loaders ,JCB Volvo Grader )
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to monitor and maintain mobile equipment costs
• Demonstrated ability to ensure safety of maintenance personnel associated with mobile equipment maintenance
• Pronto experience (desired)
