NATHAN DUNN RACING currently has the following Full-time position available located at Cranbourne Stables, Victoria.
Horse Trainer/ Educator
Duties will include:
Ability to ride pace/timed work and jump outs
Able to educate and train horses in trackwork, on the ground, and educate young horses including barrier work, and swimming
Train horses to accept equipment used in racing and around stables
Report and advise any issues to Head Trainer
Essential Skills:
A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification with at least 2 years full-time or equivalent experience; or at least 3 years full-time or equivalent professional experience in this role
Proven knowledge and experience of horse handling, riding and training methods specific to the thoroughbred industry
Proven ability to train and educate young horses
Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction; provide information and advice to others and prepare reports
Ability to work in a team and independently
Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment relevant to a racing business
Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
Excellent horsemanship skills
Salary in the range of $65000 to $80000 per annum plus super, subject to experience.
