We are looking for an Accountant to join our Building Services team in a Full Time Capacity based in Eight Mile Plains. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the financial well-being and growth of our Building Division. You will collaborate closely with the General Manager and the finance team to manage daily financial operations, prepare financial reports, and support decision-making processes.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work with business units to provide monthly analysis and insights of Business Unit performance.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Prepare financial statements for presentation to directors and management team
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Process invoices and expenses
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintain and monitor client accounts of non-payment – follow up and maintain accurate records.
• Set up new clients and Contract in the software systems.
• Monitor emails form external clients and inertial staff - investigate, actions and respond.
• Answer calls from external clients & internal staff – investigate, action & respond appropriately.
• Conduct financial investigations
• Participate in preparation of the yearly capital and operational budget;
• Create financial models to support Directors and Management team in decision making;
• Assist in financial audits and tax preparations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations.
• Assist in special financial projects as needed.
Skills & Experience:
• At least 3 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (MYOB)
• Proficient in Aroflo Systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Have knowledge of Building Services.
