The Role:
Technical Sales Representative is responsible for contributing to the budgeted revenue and projected sales growth through the continued management of existing customer accounts and the generation of new business within the technical sales arena.
Generates revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders; understanding and interpreting technical requirements; providing technical information.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Assess competitors by analysing and summarising competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities.
· Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
· Develop accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.
· Maintain communication by troubleshooting, reporting, and tracking problems.
· Develop strategic plans and Critical Success Factors to achieve long-term goals.
· Identify and proactively market new products and services in accordance with strategic goals of the business.
· Report on planned and executed sales activities to appropriate levels of management.
· Proactively build relationships with both customer and non-customer airlines at existing line stations.
· Assist and advise in the production of new marketing material.
· Produce, maintain and report an effective and proactive monthly sales plan
· Produce and maintain regular sales reports.
· Generate a specified volume of business within an established time frame.
· Provide evaluation of new business activities to ensure that those activities add value.
· Achieve annual sales targets
· Travel domestically and internationally for the purpose of overall relationship management including, but not limited to, regular in-person relationship management, sales presentations, etc.
Pre-requisite Requirements
· At least 3 years of experience in Technical Sales representative or similar role
· Business development skills with record of at least 3 years
· Bachelor degree or higher qualification
