About the role

As a Specialist UI Designer, you will drive and actively create the CommSec design language. You will work closely with our UX designers, product owners and developers to design a beautifully crafted and seamless experience across our digital assets. Your ability to craft design that looks good while creating a great user experience for our customers will set you up for success in this role.

Your team

The Digital & Customer Experience Chapter Area in CommSec comprises of UX Designers, UI Designers, Digital Product Managers and Customer Strategy experts. The team is responsible for evolving the digital experiences across web and app at CommSec.

Your core responsibilities include

• Knowledge and application of Brand and tone of voice into graphical user interfaces

• Design world class human centered experiences across the various digital channels and mediums

• Prototype to create brand narrative as well as powerful visual storytelling to influence future direction of our experiences.

• Ideate and conceptualise divergent ideas to explore solution options and converge on a subset of concepts that best solve for the identified problem space.

• Development of innovative interface designs, typography, and screen layouts for web sites, and touch applications.

• Actively contribute and evolve the CommSec Design Language and design system.

• Create design documentation to be consumed by delivery teams in a scaled agile working environment.

• Work with multiple stakeholders at varying levels of seniority to deliver the best user experiences to our target customers.

What we are looking for

• Highly developed user interface and interaction design skills with applied knowledge of visual design, accessibility, responsive and scalable design

• Demonstrated usage of tools such as Sketch, Zeplin, Figma and Adobe Suite

• Experience in designing for native platforms in iOS, Android, and Web with working knowledge of Swift, Jetpack, React or similar

• Demonstrated experience creating functional prototypes

• A curious mindset with an aptitude and passion for learning new skills in analytics, content, research, and coding

• An ability to confidently communicate with technical and engineering teams across multiple communication mediums to realise final execution

Position Overview

The Design Program Manager will help our Experience Design (XD) team in Asia Pacific operate and collaborate with other global design colleagues and stakeholder teams as they develop critical experience foundations to underpin the Autodesk Fusion cloud product.

You are a systems thinker who has had experience maturing complex, global design systems and building programs to ensure that they operate efficiently. This includes identifying where connections and processes need to be established to support critical design work that is happening between teams in the USA and Asia Pacific and ensuring that these teams are well set up to collaboratively design critical components, layouts and signature experiences that are essential for success. You are equally experienced in both managing established programs, which require strong organization, communication, and task management skills, and in identifying opportunities for improvement, applying design thinking to create successful solutions.

This is a hybrid position in Kilsyth, Melbourne. You will report to Director User Experience.

Responsibilities

• Design Program Management focused on enabling the design of critical experience building blocks to form the foundation of Autodesk Fusion's device independent future
• Develop project plans, scope and schedule. Assist team members in planning, estimating, and controlling tasks. Develop action plans to mitigate risks. Identify alternative solutions
• Drive communication and collaboration across offices and time zones and across multiple teams including Designers, Engineers, Product Owners, Product Managers, Software Architects / Tech Leads, and key stakeholders within other organizations
• Monitor program to ensure completion within defined schedule, budget, and quality parameters. Prepare and distribute various reports and updates on the status of the program to multiple audiences, including executive management, functional management
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with program management services and deliverables. Work proactively to resolve critical issues. Develop strong relationships and maintain effective communication channels
• Organize program team meetings and communications to keep team members informed and engaged
• Owning and managing programs and initiatives focused on ensuring design system maturity, design efficiency, and design impact
• Promote design-focused collaboration within the PDMS XD (Design) team and with peer organizations
• Coordinating programs to help design extensions to the core Autodesk Design System
• Design and run the governance program for the extensions to the Autodesk Design System
• Work with the Platform XD Director to design programs to support team health

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years design program management experience within a software environment
• Familiarity with user-centered design practices, UX tools and techniques, and software development methods, primarily Agile
• Strong track record of managing and completing initiatives successfully
• Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams to align goals and efforts
• Demonstrated strong writing, reporting, and documentation skills (examples may be required)
• Strong verbal and presentation skills
• Ability to travel as needed

To support our existing portfolio of projects, we are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical/Process Designer for a full-time role with our team in Melbourne. You will have the opportunity to contribute to significant water infrastructure projects via our strong partnerships with water authorities.

You will be a key member of KBR’s Water team who, in a joint venture with John Holland has been delivering Melbourne Water’s complex infrastructure projects through major design and construction framework, that will see us supporting Melbourne Water for well over a decade of continuous service.

In addition, the team are delivering major capital projects to South East Water’s record $1.5 billion investment as part of a new industry partnership between Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK). The 10-year contract will see ABK plan and deliver major infrastructure upgrades in partnership with Southeast Water as part of a new integrated capital works planning and delivery model.

You would be responsible for using 2D and 3D computer aided design applications to develop and record designs as models and drawings. You will evaluate design intent provided by professional engineers and translate that into the model or drawing.

Additionally, you will assist in the design of larger and more complex assignments that involve conventional plans, investigations, and surveys. Primarily this is for infrastructure, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater and drainage, pumping, piping and pipelines, chemical storage and dosing, minor structural and civil elements.  

Who are you?

We are seeking a candidate who has extensive experience of design within the process/mechanical disciplines on water infrastructure.

You are confident to work with stakeholders across all levels and have a willingness to provide technical assistance and guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.

You should be able to deal one on one and facilitate group discussions to foster the level of collaboration required to create an environment for individuals to achieve optimum design (2D/3D) performance.

You will also have the following skills & experience:

• Associate degree, Diploma, Associate Diploma of Design or Engineering or similar para-professional level qualification, or equivalent experience.

As The Yiros Shop continues to grow in new and exciting directions, we are looking for a creative, organised, and self-motivated Freelance Creative Designer & Animation Specialist to join our Marketing team. If suitable, we can accommodate a long-term position.

Working Hours: 20-25hrs (Hours can be increased in time)

Location of work: Remote/ in the office if located in South Brisbane

Language: Intermediate+ English required

Responsibilities

• Visual Design Creation: Develop visually captivating graphics, illustrations, and designs for various platforms, maintaining consistency in brand identity and messaging across all materials.
• Campaign Development: Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to conceptualise and execute innovative marketing campaigns. Translate ideas into compelling visual content that drives engagement and conversion.
• Animation Production: Create captivating animations that enhance the brand's online presence. Develop animated content for social media, websites, and marketing materials to tell engaging stories and capture audience attention.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all design and animation work aligns with brand guidelines, maintaining a cohesive visual identity across all touchpoints.
• Adaptability and Learning: Stay updated with industry trends, design techniques, and software updates to enhance skills and continually bring fresh ideas to the table.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work under tight timelines.
• Multichannel Campaign Optimization: Strategically create and adapt campaign visuals and animations for different marketing channels while maintaining consistency and maximising impact. Tailor designs to suit the nuances and user behaviours of specific platforms, ensuring each campaign resonates effectively across diverse channels.

Who we are looking for...

As a Product Designer at Paper Giant, you will apply your design expertise to a diverse range of client problems. You will be a hands-on maker and work collaboratively with project team members to deliver high-quality work for clients in the government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. You’ll scope and define design approaches, prototype and design digital interfaces, and create pathways for change through effective design and storytelling.

You have in-depth knowledge and experience in visual and communication design in diverse contexts and mediums. Knowledge and experience in applying human-centred design methodologies to achieve design outcomes is essential.

What you will do:

Show impact through design practice

• Tackle design problems that range from well-defined to ambiguous
• Solve client problems by applying a variety of design and creative approaches
• Use conceptual thinking to respond to user and client needs
• Use sketching, wireframing and prototyping to communicate and test possible futures for products, services, and physical/digital touchpoints
• Use design research to test ideas and inform design decisions and rationale
• Support the design and facilitation of online and in-person workshops
• Use customer journeys, service blueprints and experience maps as a way to uncover challenges and opportunities
• Collaborate on qualitative research (interviewing and sense-making) and turn insights into actionable plans for the client
• Document your work in design systems and brand guidelines.

Deliver client projects to a high standard

• You understand how to communicate research findings, strategic foresight and conceptual ideas.
• You can create detailed designs and communicate the design rationale both verbally and visually to drive change within an organisation
• You are comfortable with your personal design process and are able to communicate it to others

Manage client relationships

• You are comfortable speaking directly to clients/stakeholders

Essential skills and experience

• At least 2 years of experience working in a product design, UX/UI, communications design, graphic design or human-centred design role;
• Excellent skills with Figma, Adobe Suite, and other no-code prototyping services;
• Experience using and creating design systems and brand guidelines;
• You can show at least one project where you designed and conducted qualitative research with the users of a product, service or policy;
• You can tailor outputs and design communication to meet client needs;
• You are willing to travel to conduct research if required;
• You will help us to design and build a positive, collaborative, inclusive studio culture;
• Fluent in written and spoken English; and
• Full and current working rights for Australia.

Remuneration

The salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $110,000, depending on your experience.
