You’ll be joining a highly experienced and fresh-minded tech-loving design team, directly contributing to the creative collaboration and reworking of Freelancer’s design space. You’ll have great creative vision and expertise in visual communication with UX, UI and branding.

The type of designer weʼre looking for:

• You are a Product Designer with a deep understanding and appreciation of digital technologies and how they are designed.
• You love people; empathizing with users, problem solving and creating amazing product experiences.
• Strong visual design skills, and being able to use them to craft engaging and meaningful experiences for our users.
• You love to prototype to help get your ideas across and refine and rework to get a working version out for live testing.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative workplace; partnering with the rest of the design team, product managers, engineers, and other disciplines throughout the company.

Responsibilities include:

• Work as part of the product design team designing features that impact millions of users, ensuring all user facing touch points align with our design system and the company’s overall vision.
• Collaborate with the Design Systems team to build the next generation UI components for the Freelancer ecosystem.
• Planning and conducting UX research projects (workshops, interviews, surveys and usability testing sessions) including defining research objectives, developing scripts and test plans, participant recruitment and conducting sessions.
• Producing journey maps, user flows, sketches and annotated wireframes.
• Determine information architecture and create sitemaps.
• Production of design prototypes (both low and high fidelity) for demos and stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience of end-to-end product design. You have a track-record of tackling complex problems and delivering simple and elegant solutions for digital products.
• Extensive experience working with Figma managing design systems. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is also desirable.
• You have a great portfolio that demonstrates experience in designing world class user interfaces and product features.
• You excel in UI Design. You're driven to create strong visual designs that align with brand and design systems.
• Strong UX knowledge across iOS, Android, desktop apps and web.
• Attention to detail; master of typography, color theory and layout.
• Creative problem solving skills and conceptual thinker.
• Ability to work both within existing brand guidelines and on the development of new brands.
• Understanding of information architecture, responsive web, native mobile design.
• Strong working knowledge of frontend web technologies. You do not need to be a developer though but need to understand how things will be built.
• Positive attitude, team player, and proactive contributor.
• Ability to support, take direction and deliver.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

About the Role

We are seeking a freelance graphic designer for a branding & content agency. This involves supporting the design team in delivering various projects for clients under the supervision of the Design Director. The role includes working on conceptual projects like branding and campaign creative, print projects such as long-form documents and stationery, as well as digital projects like presentations, social media, digital ads, and UI design. Progression to end-to-end project responsibility, including smaller branding projects, is possible over time.

• 4+ years of experience in a design role
• A strong portfolio demonstrating creative capability and thinking
• Experience in a fast-paced creative environment
• The candidate should be proficient in various software like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Google & Microsoft Office Suites, and have the ability to effectively and efficiently deliver design projects. They should be adept at identifying and troubleshooting design issues, handling different file formats, and preparing designs for digital and print outputs.

As a Designer at We Are Social, you’ll be bringing to life impeccably-crafted, socially-led creative ideas across multiple platforms for some of the world’s biggest brands. 

You’re not just a pro with static layouts, but also well-versed in motion design, video editing, and probably even dabble in animation, illustration, or shooting your own stuff with either a phone or DSLR camera. 

You’ll work closely with a close-knit design team as well as creatives, editorial staff, and account management to output brilliant, impactful work at the speed of social. 

You’re a power user of pretty much everything Adobe Suite (like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro), but also always keeping up to date with social-first apps such as Capcut and cutting edge developments in new fields. 

Naturally, you’re across typography, colour theory, grids, and all that. And you’re ready to break the mold when necessary and work in various different graphic styles depending on the brand. 

You soak up design inspiration like a sponge and are keen to push visuals in new directions and be proactive and flexible in your work approach.

Being a socially-led agency, you have the ability to be always-on, with a high level of versatility, and you’ll be able to flex your skills across multiple projects at a fast pace. 

You’ll have:

• At least 3 years experience in a digital, creative or social agency
• Proficiency in design for digital and, in particular, social media platforms
• A degree level education in graphic, digital or interactive design, 
  fine arts, illustration and/or other related design discipline
• Excellent knowledge of industry standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Motion design and video editing skills
• Ability to take direction and execute/create to a high standard under pressure
