Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Analysis

  • Work with squad members and business SMEs to understand the requirements including business problem or opportunity, data feed/pipeline requirements, model design, features and/or reporting requirements

  • Contribute to documentation of requirements and user stories in Jira/Confluence, as required

• Delivery

  • Design, Build and deploy data pipelines required for the relevant initiative - could be to support analytics, reporting, machine learning, data migration and/or data archiving requirements

  • Document relevant information required for knowledge sharing across the team and for operational support handover

  • Knowledge sharing amongst the data engineering chapter and squad team members

  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery

  • Contribute and adhere to technology standards, data governance & privacy policies and IT security standards

  • Adhere to corporate governance policies and architecture best practice

  • Attend/contribute to squad agile ceremonies (e.g. standups, sprint planning etc)

  • Where required, support ML Engineers to implement and deploy scalable ML models and features (as designed by data scientists), adhering to enterprise CI/CD and devops practices

  • Where required, support ML Engineers to optimise execution performance (time and cost) of models

  • Where required, support integration, orchestration and visualisation components.

• Operations

  • Contribute and assist with handover documentation to by used by operations team for new builds/enhancements

  • 3rd level support for incidents relating to productionised data pipelines, Tableau and/or ML models

  • Comply with the change process and provide inputs, as required, and attend CAB, where required

In this role you will successfully manage civil infrastructure projects, such as roads, carparks, traffic treatments and drainage, through application of engineering principles in areas such as project management, contract management and construction supervision.  

What you’ll be doing:

• Evaluate construction tenders including the preparation of reports with a recommendation of awarding the contract. 
• Undertake contract administration including monitoring contractor’s performance, programs, progress, quality of work, progress claims, contract payments, assessment of contractor claims and price variations to ensure compliance with contract completion dates and budgets. 
• Supervise engineering projects ensuring the compliance of contractors with approved plans, specifications and relevant safety requirements. 
• Check the alignment and levels of the works. 
• Preparation of financial reports on Contracts including variations.
• Prepare engineering designs & estimates for roads, carparks, drainage infrastructure, reserves, traffic management treatments, recreational facilities, buildings and other infrastructure utilising CAD software in accordance with relevant design standards, guidelines and codes. 
• Assist with the condition evaluation of Councils assets including lifecycle and costings, including but not limited to sealed road, gravel roads, drainage network, footpaths, bridges and buildings. 
• Set out and oversee the installation of traffic management devices including, signs, line marking and traffic control devices. 

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent and/or proven experience and technical knowledge in  delivering civil infrastructure projects. 
• Demonstrated success in project management, contract administration and construction supervision & management.  
• Demonstrated knowledge of traffic engineering, civil design, construction supervision and asset management systems, will be an advantage. 
• Demonstrated time management skills, including setting priorities, planning and meeting timelines. 
• Intermediate computer skills, the use of engineering software packages would be advantageous. 
•  Minimum 4 years experience in civil engineering or other similar areas is  essential. 
• Current Driver’s Licence.
