About the Role 

The Head of Data and Insights will play a critical role in supporting the strategic decision-making and operational improvements of our Disability Services organisation. This position will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; while ensuring it drives meaningful insights to enhance the services we provide to individuals with disabilities. This role will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders, driving data initiatives that optimize service delivery, improve strategic and commercial outcomes, and support compliance with regulations and standards. 

Responsibilities include 

• Data Management and Analysis: Develop and implement data systems to collect, store, and analyse strategic, commercial and operational data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organisational goals. Provide insights through analysis, reporting, and modelling to support data-driven decision-making and service improvements. 

• Strategic and Decision Support: Collaborate with senior leadership to create data-driven strategies, support forecasting efforts, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance outcomes and service delivery. 

• Stakeholder Management: Work with internal teams and external partners to identify data needs, develop reports and dashboards, and train stakeholders to build data literacy and self-sufficiency across the organisation. 

• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on trends in data analytics and healthcare/disability services, implementing new tools and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. 

• People Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop the Data and Insights team to achieve organisational goals while overseeing recruitment, performance, and professional development. 

Qualifications and Experience 

• A degree in data science, statistics, analytics, business intelligence, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus. 

• Proven experience in data analytics, and a managerial or leadership role. 

• Experience in the disability services, healthcare, or social services sectors is highly desirable. 

• Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations relevant to the disability services industry (e.g., NDIS standards, privacy laws, etc.). 

• Advanced proficiency with data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI). 

• Experience in managing large datasets, performing data cleaning, and conducting complex statistical analysis. 

• Knowledge of database management systems and data integration tools. 

• Familiarity with CRM systems, electronic health records (EHR), or other related software used in disability services. 

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams. 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

• Proven experience working in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.

About the role

The Communications Officer will be a resilient, deadline driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced multifaceted role in a dynamic organisation.   This role creates, coordinates, develops and delivers on communications plans to grow engagement and awareness of all things Melba. Working in a fast-paced environment, this role oversees the development and distribution of communications that make Melba stand out from the crowd. They will be a custodian of the Melba tone of voice and take ownership of a range of different channels and products to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. This role will provide reporting and analysis of communications activity to facilitate continuous improvement.

 What you’ll be doing (key accountabilities)

• Write, produce and distribute engaging content across a variety of channels including but not limited to regular newsletters, social media, intranet, website scripts and marketing collateral. 
• Produce, maintain and monitor intranet and website content. 
• Develop, communicate and maintain Melba’s communications and content calendars.  
• Plan, create and prepare content for social media marketing campaigns and posts aligned with strategic objectives. 
• Develop SEO driven written and visual content targeted to our stakeholders and specific audiences identified in internal communications plans. 
• Manage multiple competing deadlines and projects concurrently including BAU and ad hoc in a fast-paced environment.
• Deliver Melba stories, including production of videos and other materials to accompany our annual report, including scripting and interviewing for short videos for social and internal communications. 
• Produce engaging digital content, including but not limited to images, banners, gifs, videos, podcasts, and animations, that help to promote Melba’s overall brand story 
• Liaise with external providers to coordinate content as appropriate. 
• Work with the marketing team to jointly monitor, evaluate and report on social media delivery and engagement. 
• Manage the community engagement of social media including comments and direct messages.  
• Review, analyse and report on all communications channels with a view to continually improve.

About the role

The Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising marketing campaigns across various channels and developing, promoting, and delivering a range of events across Melba for both internal and external stakeholders. This position is accountable for the planning and delivery of creative events that showcase Melba’s services and meet other requirements as defined. Key focus of the role includes experience in campaign management, event management, digital marketing, and project coordination within a dynamic marketing team.

• Assist in the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, email, events, and traditional advertising.
• Coordinate project timelines, tasks, and deliverables to ensure campaigns are executed smoothly and on schedule.
• Using co-design principles, collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop an event program that aligns to Melba's strategic objectives and fosters awareness of Melba and its services.
• Research and identify relevant events, conferences, expos, and school engagements that align with Melba’s strategic objectives and target audiences.
• Manage the booking and registration process, including negotiation of sponsorships, exhibitor spaces, or speaking opportunities.
• Plan and coordinate logistics for Melba's participation in events, including materials, staffing, presentations, and promotional activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create marketing materials, such as content, graphics, and promotional assets. 
• Support the management of digital marketing channels, including website updates, social media content scheduling, intranet and email campaign deployment.

About the Role 

The Head of Commercial will lead a team of people responsible for providing commercial advice and assistance to the business on its commercial relationships.  Responsible for overseeing the effective and efficient management of assets, pricing and billing strategies, property and facilities operations and procurement activities, this position will ensure that Melba’s resources are efficiently and effectively utilised, costs are managed, and facilities support the high standard of care and services provided to people we support.  The role is pivotal in delivering operational excellence and driving a value for money culture. 

Responsibilities include 

• Strategic oversight: Provide strategic direction and implement plans for asset management, pricing and billing, property and facilities management, and procurement, driving innovation, performance improvement, and risk mitigation. 

• People Leadership: Build organisational capability through coaching and education while managing and developing the Commercial team to meet objectives effectively. 

• Asset Management: Oversee the organisation’s assets, ensuring optimal performance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with service delivery needs. 

• Pricing and Billing: Ensure compliance with NDIS pricing requirements, manage accurate billing processes, and develop pricing models to support financial goals. 

• Property and Facilities Management: Manage physical properties to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency, coordinating maintenance and planning to support operational needs. 

• Procurement and Contract Management: Develop and oversee procurement strategies, ensuring compliance, cost-effectiveness and value for money, and strong supplier relationships for quality service delivery. 

Qualifications and Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field (required). 

• Significant experience in commercial management, ideally within the healthcare, disability, or human services sector. 

• Excellent contract negotiation and relationship management skills. 

• Experience in strategic planning, business development, and market analysis. 

• Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing teams. 

• High level of communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

The Executive Engagement Specialist manages communication and engagement activities for leadership initiatives, such as monthly Leadership Team Forums and Melba-wide Town Halls such as agenda preparation, speaker notes, presentations, and supporting delivery. The position develops tailored content in various formats, creating engagement tools that align organisational strategy with daily work, and supporting project-specific communications and engagement efforts. This position supports the Executive Leadership Team in identifying opportunities like industry events and conferences in line with strategic direction, assisting with applications and content development. The Executive Engagement Specialist will also support executive-level social media strategy and create end-to-end communication and engagement plans for other organisational priorities.  

What you’ll be doing (key accountabilities)

About the Role 

The Head of Risk Management will lead the development and ongoing operation of strategic risk assessment frameworks and risk policy. This new role will foster a risk aware organisational culture that effectively manages risk and supports performance improvement through innovation, good governance, and best practice. 

 Through the provision of strategic leadership and technical support, the Head of Risk Management is responsible for ensuring a robust framework exists to assess enterprise or strategic risk and operational risk, so that an effective and consistent system is in place for risk identification, evaluation, mitigation, reporting, escalation, disaster recovery and business continuity. This position provides a strong focus on promoting a positive risk management culture, through active promotion and education of staff across all levels of the organisation. It is also responsible for the management of the Internal Audit program and Corporate Insurance program. 

Responsibilities 

• Risk Management Framework: Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive risk management framework to address strategic, operational, and legislative compliance across the organisation. 

• Positive Risk Culture: Promote a proactive risk culture by championing awareness, delivering training, and embedding risk management practices across all levels of the organisation. 

• Risk Management System: Oversee the implementation and management of an enterprise risk system to centralise and streamline risk recording and monitoring. 

• Risk Advice: Provide expert, strategic, and operational risk management advice, including assessments, controls, and reporting to support organisational growth and safety. 

• Internal Audit (Commercial): Develop and coordinate a risk-based internal audit program with a commercial focus to ensure compliance, enhance accountability, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions across the organization. 

• Insurance: Manage corporate insurance coverage and claims to ensure comprehensive and cost-effective risk protection for the organisation. 

• Compliance & Policy: Monitor regulatory changes, maintain an assurance roadmap, and ensure policies and procedures align with risk management standards. 

• Business Continuity Plans: Develop, review, and implement business continuity and emergency management plans to ensure preparedness and resilience in crisis scenarios. 

Qualifications and Experience 

• Bachelor of Business or similar formal qualifications in Risk Management, or significant relevant experience in a similar environment/organisation.  

• Practical knowledge of Australian Standards pertaining to Risk Management systems. 

• Extensive experience at a senior level within the areas of governance, risk, compliance and audit, with risk management technology capability viewed favourably.  

• Alignment and commitment to Melba’s Mission, Vision and Values.  

• A commitment to drive the development and implementation of a positive and proactive risk culture across Melba. 

• Superior communication and influencing skills, with the ability to win hearts and minds across corporate and operational divisions of Melba.  

• Sound knowledge of good practice enterprise risk and compliance frameworks and processes and risk system capabilities, for large and complex organisations.  

• Demonstrated experience in interpreting legislation/regulations and developing policies, procedures and guidelines. 

• Good working knowledge of audit processes, business continuity management, obligation management, risk and compliance monitoring and reporting.  

• A proactive and ‘can-do’ attitude, with a willingness to work flexibly across program areas to achieve business outcomes.    

• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and present effectively to a variety of audiences. 

• The ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands.

• A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them).  

• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate. 

• Full Australian Driver's License.

Position Purpose 

Service Quality is paramount at Melba Support Services. The Outcomes Lead is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of a service site within Home and Living, including the financial performance. They will provide the required amount of support to assist people with disabilities to live a life that is personally fulfilling to that individual whilst also planning and coordinating the provision of direct staff support, and supervision of the staff assigned to support these individuals. 

hat you’ll be doing (Key accountabilities) 

• Work in accordance with Melbas Vision, Mission, Values, Human Rights, and Zero Tolerance. 

• Work in accordance with Melbas Policies & Procedures and Quality Framework, including reporting requirements.  

• Establish and manage the delivery of high-quality services to people with a disability in line with Melba’s Vision, Mission & Values.  

• Prepare required plans, reports, business cases and evaluations as required. 

• Manage risk in a manner that accords individuals dignity, choice and control.  

• Provide ongoing support and management to direct support staff and foster a workplace free from bullying and harassment. 

• Through role modelling and positive work practices, lead a team of staff in providing a high quality and person-centred services to the people we support to ensure that individuals’ physical, spiritual and emotional health is at optimal level.   

• To actively participate in the recruitment, induction, orientation and training of staff.  

• To develop, complete and update SIL quotes as required.  

• To attend NDIS review meetings if/when required.   

• To develop house rosters based on approved SIL quotes (with Outcome Manager approval prior to implementation).   

• To oversee and manage day to day property issues and maintenance requests.   

• To ensure all required documentation is current, accurate and up to date.  

• To develop agenda items for, and to lead regular staff meetings.  

• To seek and receive ongoing feedback from individuals and staff to ensure the continual satisfaction and improvement of service delivery.   

• To promote and adopt a PCAS (person centred active support) approach to assist individuals to be actively engaged in all areas of their daily lives.   

• To deliver supports and services in line with the principles of PBS (positive behaviour support).   

• Develop and maintain effective and strategic working relationships and networks with: funding bodies which includes the NDIS, regulatory agencies, partners and other service providers.  

• Respect and safeguard the Human Rights of people supported ensuring they feel safe, well and are free from abuse and neglect.  

• Build relationships and partnerships with other service providers that assist in creating opportunities for individuals accessing the service. This can include Clinicians, Consultants, Specialists, community-based organisations, funding bodies, regulatory agencies, and relevant business partners.   

• Maintain personal knowledge of relevant legislation, NDIS Service Standards and contemporary practices to support the role. One avenue is through professional development activities.  

• Role model high quality person centred practices to staff that demonstrates support appropriate to assist an individual to participate in their daily routines and achieve their chosen outcomes.  

• Organisation and supervision of staff around supported persons plans, programs and key outcomes, including day to day supervision, performance management and skill development. 

• Effectively manage, coordinate and support the development of skills within the staff team to ensure staff meet the individualised requirements of the individuals supported.  

• To effectively lead a team of staff to:  

1. Support individuals to develop and maintain family relationships, friendships and intimate relationships, 

1. Assist individuals to identify and pursue a broad range of social, educational, vocational and recreational opportunities that bring meaning and value to their lives. 

1. Support individuals to become recognised and accepted as valued and contributing members of their community. 

1. Support individuals to use their preferred communication method and/or receive support that encompasses their preferred communication method. 

1. Provide supports that ensure an individual’s health is maintained at an optimal level for that person.  

• Understand and monitor NDIS budgets for each person supported. 

• Ensure that the rostering of direct support staff is in line with each person’s agreed supports as set out in their Service Agreement and compliant with the Melba Enterprise Agreement. 

• Document and maintain relevant information in relation to a person’s supports and outcomes, including supporting the implementation of Personal Outcomes Measures (POMs) provided by Melba.  

• Develop and maintain effective relationships with individuals who purchase services and their families, carers or advocates. Respond to enquiries from people with a disability and their families about appropriate support options to meet their needs and desires which includes making appropriate referrals as necessary. 

• Other duties as directed by the Outcomes Manager. 

Your Background (Skills and attributes)  

• A track record of effectively leading teams of staff to perform their roles to a high standard and to provide innovative and progressive service delivery models.  

• An understanding of both physical and intellectual disabilities and other complex presentations (including mental health support).  

• A good understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and person-centred practice. 

• Experience in supporting people with a disability and their families. 

• Ability to advocate on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities. 

• Experience in working effectively with people who have complex communication needs

• Capacity to follow instructions, policies and procedures 

• Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent.

• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate. 

• A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check. 

• The ability and relevant driver’s license to perform travel and work a variety of shifts, including weekends. Position may also require working active nights. 

• Compliance with OHS&W regulations, legislation, and Policies and Procedures is required. 

• Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening checks, mandatory training, and their subsequent renewals is necessary.
