Contentful’s Customer Support Engineers (f/m/d) are at the forefront of our efforts to assist customers who are building amazing websites, apps, and other digital experiences using cutting-edge technologies.

Working directly with our customers, our Customer Support Engineers help identify and research Contentful-related issues that users experience, and then troubleshoot and help resolve those issues.  By providing this assistance, and escalating issues when necessary to our Engineering team, our Customer Support Engineers give our customers confidence that their needs are represented and addressed. Many large customers rely on Contentful to power their public websites, mobile apps, and other mission-critical parts of their business; our Customer Support Engineers play a vital role in enabling their success in doing so.

• Minimum 2 years previous experience with a direct contribution in Support and/or Customer-facing processes and tools like; a ticketing system, in-app chat, shift handover, on-call coverage, service level agreements, escalation process, and incident response
• Experience working with APIs and API-based SaaS integrations
• Software development exposure/troubleshooting experience in one or more of our supported languages (JavaScript, Java, Ruby, .Net, PHP, Python, Objective-C, or Swift)
• A good understanding of how web applications and mobile apps are built and work
• Confidence with common UNIX-like command-line tools
• A track record of getting things done in an environment that combines collaboration and individual responsibility
• Ability to read server logs and process them to aggregate/analyze data
• An understanding of Agile processes or experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly explain concepts and produce example code that complements the explanation
• Customer-centered, high level of empathy, and cross-team collaboration mindset

The Commercial Products team manages a fleet of custom-built and off the shelf systems that perform critical functions for our Sales Operations, Traffic, Finance and Presentation teams, which make it possible for us to sell and traffic ads. In other words, our systems manage all revenue associated with broadcast today and progressively into digital.

Ideally you have worked with Salesforce over the last couple of years, have a focus on industry cloud solutions, and are comfortable working from implementation to adoption. 

Role responsibilities

• User Management: Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts, roles, and permissions to ensure data security and accessibility.
• System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain system performance, security, and data integrity.
• Customisation: Customise Salesforce applications, including the creation of reports, dashboards, page layouts, and workflow automation.
• Data Management: Perform data imports, exports, backups, and cleansing to maintain high-quality data standards.
• Training & Support: Provide training and ongoing support to users, helping them to navigate the platform and utilise its features effectively.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and user procedures.
• Collaboration: Work with various departments to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and enhance the Salesforce platform to meet evolving business needs.
• Updates & Releases: Stay up-to-date with Salesforce releases and new features; assess their impact and implement necessary updates.

Join Our Team as a Software Support Engineer (SSE) 

Are you a problem solver who thrives on helping customers succeed? As a Software Support Engineer (SSE) on our growing team, you'll be at the forefront of assisting our customers with installing our software, deploying it to cloud-hosted environments, integrating it with their data sources, and upgrading to the latest versions. You'll work closely with customers, often via Zoom, to troubleshoot technical issues related to our software and their environments, including firewalls, third-party authentication, and general IT challenges. 

In this role, you'll be a valued member of our product development team, influencing the evolution of our products to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve common pain points.

• Can support the APAC region.  8 AM – 5 PM MYT – Can work other locations, but this is the base time to cover (Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand as examples)  

• You have a bachelor's or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.  

• You’re open to periodic travel to work with customers on-site or attend meetups for some face-to-face time with your colleagues. 

• Experience with Linux and Windows, and familiarity with cloud environments like AWS or Azure. 

• Experience with using tools like Task Manager, Process Explorer, Wireshark, and other Windows Sysinternal power tools.
