On behalf of our client ZicroDATA, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Commercial accountant to join our team and play a pivotal role in the organisation’ success.
Our organisation
ZircoDATA is one of Australia's leading providers of information management solutions to the Australian market. We provide a wide range of services including records management, management, vital records archive storage, data protection services and document destruction and translation services.

Primary purpose of the role
Located at our Shared Service office in Bentleigh, Victoria, reporting to the Director, Finance this is a key role within the finance team responsible for the financial accounting processes across the business(technical application , reporting ), monthly general ledger reconciliation process and statutory reporting on a monthly basis-all this with a view to continuously reviewing and improving processes to align with best practices and company objectives.
In addition, the Commercial Accountant will need to oversee two direct reports within the ‘Financial control’ team and provide coaching / assistance whenever requires. It’s expecting the Commercial Accountant is able to demonstrate a strong team leadership / coach skills and willing to build a high performing team culture within the business.
Key Accountabilities
What are the main role responsibilities against which performance is measured? Indicate if the role is within or across business entities and geographies.
• Adhere to the ZircoDATA Code of Ethics and Core Values
• Adhere to all ZircoDATA Australia Policies and Procedures (where applicable)
• Complete all tasks as directed by the Director, Finance in a timely and efficient manner
Financial Accounting
• Ensure the month end closing & all associated reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly and annual) is
completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Responsible for billing and cash receipt forecast on treasury reporting purpose
• Liaise with financial control team members to ensure billings / service credit are raised on time and numbers
are reconciling to the balance sheet
• Stay abreast with current changes in IFRS/Accounting Standards and ensure the company complies
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and have these ready for review to the CFO and
Director, Finance at the monthly reconciliation review meeting - in a timely manner;
• Maintain the cash flow forecast and alert the Director, Finance and CFO of potential risks
• Ensure compliance to debt levels requirements to ensure Safe Harbour
• Provide training to the Billing / commercial analyst and continuously review best practice finance processes
are in place
• Provide insight to accuracy of the billing report and reconciliation on any changes
• Work closely with the Director, Finance to ensure that adequate internal controls are in place to safeguard
company assets and ensure accuracy and reliability of financial records
Management Accounting
• Working with the business and the FP&A’s to provide comprehensive managing accounting support as required;
• Understands the business drivers including:
o Areas where efficiencies can be delivered;
o Areas where additional resources are required to deliver a better outcome.
• Providing financial advice to the business as required.
• Review and process all journals allowing month end to be completed in a timely manner.
• Ad hoc finance and operational project work as agreed with the Director, Finance.
Financial operating system knowledge
• Have a sound understanding in relation to automation of data flow between difference financial systems;
• Be able to implement new ideas to streamline and improve efficiencies; and
• Be able to take responsibilities and indicatives in relation to the new entities acquired
Decision Making Authority and Budgetary Responsibility
The extent of the role holder’s authority to make decisions without referral to a higher authority

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
What qualifications/experience is needed to do the job?
How long would it take for a new person to learn how to do it effectively?
Qualifications: (Must have)
• Accounting degree
• Track record of continuous professional development;
• Technically competent finance professional with high degree of personal resilience and
the ability to prioritise conflicting priorities/issues.
Skills (including languages): (Must have )
• Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of close management of
billing and commercial aspects of the operation
• Sound and up to date knowledge of AU GAAP and International Financial Reporting
Standards (IFRS)
• Excellent Excel modelling skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to use them in informing,
coaching and training
• Strong communication and influencing skills, able to communicate concepts and findings
of analysis to colleagues and present information at an executive level standard
• Able to build relationships and operate in a matrix structure, strong customer focused
orientation
• Ability to analyse problems, actively strategise to resolve such problems, good attention
to detail
Experience:
-Approximately 2 to 3 years of experience within an Accounting firm and/or SME business
(private or public) is essential
• Have experience using Netsuite ERP system, or any other major ERP systems is desirable.

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum.
