Electrical Engineering Employment Opportunity (Role):
Industrial Automation Group (IAG) is currently seeking to employ an Electrical Engineer to take active part in the current challenges associated with IAGs the bids, projects and maintenance for the existing sites including remote telephone support to the clients
Primary Functional Areas:
a) Electrical equipment design, manufacturing, programming, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance associated with utilization, monitoring and control
b) Coordinate activities associated with manufacturing, installation and commissioning of electrical systems
c) Provide client support related to operation and maintenance of electrical equipment
d) Take active part in the electrical engineering areas associated with the bids and proposals submitted by IAG
Day to day activities (General):
a) Plan, schedule, coordinate, estimate and complete the design, manufacturing, testing, transportation, installation/construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical and control systems associated with projects, services and repairs divisions in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
b) Understand the functional descriptions of bids and projects, develop organization charts, arrive at time and materials rates, define the scope and responsibilities of the manpower and optimize the utilization of the resources to ensure that there is no duplication of shortage or resources
c) Estimate and provide the best and optimum bid cost, profits, project schedule, work area utilization and sell price for prospective and awarded projects and services
d) Set budgets, track, verify/analyze the actual time, efficiency and materials utilized for electrical projects
e) Deliver documents including but not limited to site survey reports, equipment list, datasheets, and layouts
f) Interpret client specifications, drawings, standards and regulations relating to electrical equipment
g) Plan and design power distribution equipment including motor control centers, design electrical drawings including three line/single line diagrams, panel layouts, schematic diagrams, and termination diagrams
h) Prepare/review the other technical documents that include datasheets for circuit-breakers, switchgear, solar panels, charge controllers, batteries, cables, fittings and other electrical equipment as required by various projects undertaken by the company
i) Selection of products/equipment/appliances such as electric motors and other necessary electrical components
j) Organize, interface and manage the resources used, provide technical input to the procurement department for buying electrical equipment for various projects. Provide technical clarifications as required
k) Develop and implement factory test procedures, site installation procedures and commissioning procedures associated with the electrical equipment
l) Effectively project manage small to medium sized projects and work with internal and external resources
m) Use relevant Australian standards, legislation and good electrical industry practice
n) Provide full documentation for all projects including operation installation and maintenance manuals, manufacturer’s data report and as built documents
o) Prepare and issue periodical project reports using the live data in the centralised system including technical and commercial progress, identification of activities that are not moving as per the plan, fix deficiencies and complete the project as per the plan
p) Carry out FAT, mechanical completion checks, commissioning checks and maintenance checks
Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
a) Responsible and accountable for the estimating through to execution of projects including prepare estimates/quotes, design, manufacturing, programming, testing, installation, commissioning, as-building, QA/QC aspects and remote maintenance support to the existing 300 plus sites
b) Prepare as-built documents associated with client sites in RTU based electrical equipment including the manufacturer’s data reports
c) Prepare/collate technical documents associated with electrical and instrumentation materials including the electrical switchgear used in the projects and products such as SmarterCtrl, grain aeration controllers, standpipes controllers and lighting controllers
d) Develop/Design/Update electrical engineering deliverables including but not limited to the drawings as per the industry standards
e) Prepare datasheets, specifications, scope of work, factory test procedures, inspection and test forms inspection and test forms, installation and site commissioning procedures
f) Provide commissioning assistance to the technicians on site and remote support through cloud-based SCADA system
g) Prepare electrical estimates including estimates for materials, equipment and man hours for IAG’s bids and take active part in efficiently winning the projects quoted by IAG.
h) Carry out procurement engineering tasks associated with Electrical systems including RFQs, Technical Bid Evaluation with commercial awareness, recommendation for award with commercial awareness.
i) Generate Electrical Engineering project plans all projects undertaken by IAG in MicroSoft Projects
j) Actively contribute to the research and development of PLC/RTU based manufactured products for local government projects associated with bulk water distribution, irrigation, grain aeration and lighting
k) Provide engineering support for all projects, electrical switchboard and control systems manufacturing activities in the workshop, track the progress of all electrical engineering activities through IAG’s central ERP System (ERPNext)
Educational Qualifications, experience and other skills required:
a) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering as a bare minimum recognized by Australia
b) Minimum 1 year of practical work experience as an Electrical Engineer to handle all the above areas
c) Past experience in Research activities associated with Electrical/instrumentation areas
d) Good practical experience on Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook) be self-sufficient to deliver the electrical engineering deliverables listed above
e) Practical experience in working with multi-discipline projects and good interfacing skills to work as a team
f) Practical knowledge in the Quality Assurance/ Quality Control areas associated with electrical systems/procedures/forms is a necessity
g) Practical knowledge in the engineered products manufactured by IAG is preferred
