About the role:

As a UX Engineer at Ignition, you will play a key role in shaping the overall user experience across our product.

This role is focused on making our user interface more intuitive, polished, and consistent to create a seamless experience that is easy to navigate and use. You’ll not only write code but also work closely with our design team to evolve design patterns, remove user friction, and ensure a cohesive flow throughout the app.

This position requires both strong frontend technical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-centred solutions, with a focus on balancing design vision with technical feasibility.

What your day to day will look like:

• Plan and execute ongoing UX improvements, refining the user experience and resolving usability issues to make the product more intuitive and user-friendly
• Help improve and maintain the component library to ensure our UI remains cohesive, reusable, and efficient across the product
• Work closely with designers, giving practical feedback to ensure that design goals are achievable without sacrificing technical feasibility or maintainability
• Support efforts to optimise frontend performance, enhancing speed and responsiveness for seamless user interactions across all browsers and devices.
• Collaborate with other frontend engineers, reviewing code and sharing insights to help the team consistently raise the bar on quality
• Stay sharp by keeping up with evolving frontend tools and best practices, and apply that knowledge to make the product and process better every day
• Document your work and decisions, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of how things work and why choices were made

The Broadcast Audio and Comms Support Engineer role focuses on supporting audio and communications systems that deliver media across TV, streaming platforms, mobile, radio, and print, covering sports, news, and entertainment. 

Responsibilities include system support for stakeholders reliant on Broadcast Technology services, along with contributing to knowledge transfer, documentation, and user training. The role is part of a dynamic team that values innovation and encourages creative ideas to advance broadcasting operations in Australia.

Day to day you will: 

• Provide prompt, in-depth technical support of Broadcast systems and services.
• Manage the lifecycle of all incidents of assigned Broadcast systems and services.
• Provide assistance to all other Broadcast Technology teams as directed.
• Take ownership of the design, implementation and support of assigned Broadcast systems and services.
• Manage the lifecycle of all incidents, requests, change initiatives and system upgrades of assigned Broadcast systems and services.
• Meet regularly with stakeholders to develop and adapt workflows, systems and services to meet business objectives.
• Act as a role model and mentor to all team members and stakeholders.

This role will require you to be available to support systems and services as required - out of hours, weekend and on-call work may be required.

About the team

You will be part of the FIS team dedicated to developing market leading 3D Secure and digital payment solutions for prominent local and international brands. Our suite of products includes Payment Gateway, Orchestration Services and 3D Secure for credit and debit cards as well as ApplePay, GooglePay, and an expanding range of international payment providers.

 You will work closely with Customers, Product Managers, Business Analysts and Agile teams to design, build and implement quality technical solutions. You will be Involved in the full software development lifecycle including designing, coding, testing, implementing, and maintaining software that is delivered on time and within budget.

You will be proactive and make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.  You will participate in Agile scrum ceremonies: Daily standups, design workshops, story grooming and sizing, and retrospectives. Responsibilities may also include participation in architecture design workshops, performance monitoring and feature estimations. You will ensure solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architecture, compliance, and security standards.

What you will be doing

• Provide application software development services following the Agile SDLC.

• Develop program logic for new applications or analysis and modification of logic in existing applications.

• Troubleshooting, debugging, analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining software applications.

• Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented.

• Analyse requirements and translates business requirements into product designs and user stories.

• Write technical specifications and other forms of documentation as needed.

• Suggest technical alternatives and improves/streamline processes and systems.

• Complete project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.

• Level 2 and 3 technical support for customers as needed.

What you bring

• Core Java expertise, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Javascript, REST, OpenAPI, Jira / Rally, Git / Bitbucket, Jenkin, Azure

• Other technologies that will be good to have are: Micro-Services, JPA, Elasticsearch, MQs, Kafka, Junit, Cucumber, SwaggerHub

• Sound understanding of Design Patterns, Behaviour Driven Development

• Highly professional

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in written

• Confident and adaptable personality

• Strong organisational, prioritisation, and planning skills
