The position is responsible for developing concept designs for physical products, sound Industrial Design principles are expected to be utilised in development of concepts to ensure usability and aesthetics. Design concepts must fully consider product cost implications. Undertake detailed design tasks for mechanical components and sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Marketing & Sales and Field personal to capture key product requirements and pain points with existing products.
• Execute comprehensive benchmarking of global product offerings to help guide the concept development process.
• Develop design concepts which can achieve all product requirements as defined in the product requirements.
• Explore opportunities to add additional innovative features above and beyond those explicitly being requested, which can delight the customer.
• Utilise sound industrial design principles to ensure products achieve a high level of usability (ergonomics) and aesthetics (branding / look & feel).
• Engage with Purchasing / Supply Chain to ensure that concept designs can be produced using viable and cost-effective manufacturing processes.  Design concepts must include high level cost estimates that are supported by actual supplier quotes and/or best judgement engineering estimates.
• Design of mechanical components and systems.
• Creation of part drawings and specifications.
• Creation of Assembly drawings and Bill of Materials.
• Release of mechanical documents to Production.
• Ensure all design meet product requirements.
• Simulation of systems with considerations for thermal, electrical, and magnetic effects.
• Update and manage existing mechanical designs to support ongoing production.
• Analysis and development of test plans to validate designs against relevant standards.
• Development and construction of test fixtures for design validation and production
• Development and construction of marketing showcases for new products
• Detailed cost analysis of in development products with a focus of material costs and volume considerations
• Management and creation of external facing documents such as user guides and field notices

As a Principal Signal Design Engineer at Omada, you will lead the independent design review function, verification and independent principles verification of conventional signalling designs for projects, nationally. You will utilise your specialist knowledge in rail signalling to lead signalling designers and engineers to contribute to the successful management and delivery of projects for clients.

In this role, you will:

• Lead a team of signal designers and signal design engineers for medium to major size projects and tenders, assuming responsibility for the management of design activities, performance requirements as well as technical and commercial responsibility of project deliverables
• Manage design approval on design packages, reports and management plans
• Oversee the provision of design services and design team input into progressive completions and activities, including production of as-built information
• Review and implement processes to ensure a consistent approach on each work package, ensuring design inputs for systems engineering requirements management and validation meet requirements
• Design, check, independent verification and final sign off of high-level signalling documentation inclusive of feasibility studies; technical requirements; SOWs; bonding/cable plans; control tables; power calculations etc
• Design, check, and conclude independent verification of infrastructure assets inclusive of trackside signalling infrastructure; train detection systems; SCADA systems; vital/non-vital interlocking systems etc
• Provide technical advice to clients and project stakeholders and teams on interfacing operational systems
• Lead tender teams and produce tender documentation
• Test, commission and maintain signalling systems and associated supporting systems
• Principle Testing and Simulation Testing
• Project reporting on performance and progress, inclusive of financial reporting
• Mentor and guide junior signalling engineers and project engineers

About the role
Due to a sharp increase in new high-end Print Production products, we are looking to fill a Field Service Technician position to join our NSW Print Production team, providing outstanding service and support to our valuable customer base.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and support of Colour and B&W print equipment and ancillary products with associated software & services solutions.

As a member of the NSW Service Team, you will ensure customer satisfaction through on-site Corrective and Preventative maintenance on customer equipment. This role works within a team of dedicated technicians and reports directly to the Service Delivery Manager.

Previous experience in the Print Production industry is highly desirable and will be looked upon favourably, although not essential for the right candidate in a similar industry looking to start their career in a hands-on technical role with fantastic learning and development opportunities.
