Technical Sales Representative

We are a leading Australian Designer & Manufacturer of contamination control and machine reliability solutions. Filter Technology have a wide range of oil, fuel & hydraulic filtration systems and oil storage & dispensing systems. Our design flexibility allows us to provide custom-built systems to meet clients’ needs, whether it be on board their machines or on-site in their workshop.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our technical products and services to businesses. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Role objectives
The objectives of the Sales & Technical Support role are to:
• Provide sales and technical support to customers, both on and off-site
• Apply technical knowledge when communicating with customers
• Manage and assist with onsite installations, repairs, maintenance & testing/diagnostic activities
• Apply technical knowledge to enable problem-solving and determination of appropriate solutions
Key Responsibilities
• Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of our technical products and services to effectively communicate their features and benefits to potential customers.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. Understand their business needs and propose tailored technical solutions to address their challenges.
• Sales Strategies: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical resource for customers, providing guidance on product specifications, customization options, and integration possibilities.
• Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market demands. Use this knowledge to position our products effectively in the market.
• Customer Support: Work closely with the customer support team to address customer inquiries, resolve technical issues, and ensure overall customer satisfaction.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate sales documentation, including proposals, contracts, and reports.
Challenges
Maintaining your own time management/activities, tracking activities, and completing the required forms, reports, results appropriately and on time as required and promotion/management of a safe work environment.
Organisational Relationships
The Sales & Technical Support Person reports directly to the Technical Operations Manager

Education, Qualifications &
• Suitable certification or relevant experience.
Experience
• At least two years of experience in a similar environment.
• Proven experience in technical sales, with a successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills
• Strong technical acumen and the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Previous experience with filtration products, oils and hydrocarbons not critical but highly regarded
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Exposure to manufacturing and fabrication process is advantageous
• Exposure to mine sites is advantageous
• Proven problem-solving skills in the hydrocarbon, hydraulic & manufacturing industries
• Current Order 43 Coal Services Medical or willingness to get one.
Other Mandatory Requirements
• The employee must be fit and able to undertake any medical examinations required for the position and have the ability to pass inductions as required
• The employee must pass the FTA Induction and understand FTA WHS/QA policies and procedures
• The employee must wear all necessary PPE to reasonably protect the employee from workplace hazards
• The employee must at all times work safely and with consideration for others in the workplace
• The employee must maintain confidentiality of information to protect FTA’s interests and sign a Deed of Confidentiality
• As a condition of acceptance, the appointee MUST disclose pre-existing illnesses or injuries prior to employment; failure to do this may remove the appointee’s entitlement to any future workers’ compensation
Salary: $80K - $90K yearly
