The Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration involves road safety collaborative projects with industry, government and other road safety stakeholders. This role involves working as part of a research team to successfully gather vital work within the domain of fleet safety which includes both light and heavy vehicles as well as research in motorcycle safety.

The Research Assistant position provides major support in field-based research and laboratory work within traffic psychology, road safety behaviours and relevant research duties such as data collection, data storage, data analysis, reports and scholarly articles that the team may require. This role will also provide administrative assistance to the Principal Research Fellow and senior staff members of the MAIC Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration as well as supporting the research group activities, field work and laboratory training.

This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) position. The role is based at Griffith University Mt Gravatt campus; however, the successful candidate will be expected to do some teaching and/or other work as directed at other Griffith University campuses. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Professional Research Assistant grade 1 range $73,783- $78,034 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,326 - $91,299 per annum.
The full time equivalent base salary will be Professional Research Assistant grade 2 range $82,278- $86,526 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,265 - $101,235 per annum.

The Research Fellow role will take an active position in research utilising state of the art technology and facilities in our traffic psychology laboratory located within the School of Applied Psychology.

This opportunity is a key position within the MAIC Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration requiring a hands-on approach and strong industry collaboration skills.

The successful candidate will be involved in qualitative and quantitative research data collection and analysis, conduct experimental research using driving simulation, eye tracking and Hexoskin and milestone deliverables.

The Lecturer, Psychology will commence with a Teaching and Research profile and will contribute to teaching, research, and scholarship excellence and engagement activities in the discipline of Psychology with a particular research emphasis in traffic psychology, road safety behaviours, or related area.
